A restaurant that perhaps is trying too hard. While the seared tuna was delicious albeit super raw, the polenta was a confusing mess of an entree. It didn't seem to know what it wanted to be. Not a place to celebrate a birthday as no appropriate desserts for one on a special diet were available.

I visited Black Cat Bistro on 5/2/22 during a road trip on PCH from Los Angeles County. I had visited a few years ago for a light lunch and wine. On this occasion, I had the ribeye steak and a Cabarnet. The service was excellent. The ambiance felt relaxing with dimly lit lighting and a fireplace. I highly recommend Black Cat Bistro. You will not be disappointed.

The place itself is a great place for a date night to impress. Deducted one star because they were out of the steak and wine my wife wanted to order. Both meals were quite tasty. Appetizer was the crab cakes. Wife had the pasta with scallops. I had the seared albacore. All were tasty, was just expecting a bit more.

Best dinner house in Cambria. Fantastic food w/excellent wine pairings...and they're fixing the place up...new flooring noticed this trip. Mauricio always does a mouth watering menu and he's a good friend with a beautiful family! You MUST try this place next time you're on the central coast...I think they open at 5pm every day.
