Yes you can remove the brace to put ice on but do not bend the knee. If there's a chance the knee might bend accidentally you should leave the brace on and try to ice over the brace. Dr Paul's medical assistant will be able to give you more instructions at your post op visit.
I'm not a Dr. I'm not sure where that came from? Possibly because I was at Dr. Paul's office who is an orthopedic specialist.
I know he does them at Mercy hospital. I'm not sure if he goes to the other hospital or not.
