After having to go back out to my car multiple times to get everything they needed since they didn’t tell me the first time I went to the counter and won’t answer their phone, I was told that I did not meet non-WA status and had to pay my back taxes. I was under the impression that I had followed every rule and yet I was told no. Since at that point I had basically no choice, I paid the $1800 fee. I called the Dept of Revenue on my way home - turns out that I was correct and the woman there was wrong. Now I’m having to sit on hold with the state to get my money back and they’re saying refunds are taking up to a year right now. Not to mention the parking monitor in this lot stands there all day just waiting for your free time to be up to give you an $88 tickets. Go to the one north of the university. Way better all around. Update: it’s been three days and I just got a letter in the mail saying “I gave you the wrong tabs. Please put these on your car instead.” What a joke! How does this even happen?!

This business is an old school haven of helpfulness and amazing customer service at a level you don't often see these days! Fun fact per Fred Maxie, the amazing 80 something year old owner who was talking to everyone in line the day I was there to keep things moving along efficiently: this is the only Black and Asian owned vehicle licensing business in the nation! If you need car tabs, vehicle or vessel licensing, or titling, this is your place! Every single employee there does their best to keep the line moving quickly, super professionally, and with a smile. There are even a few 30 minute free parking spaces out front to help relieve your parking stress! I can't say enough great things about this business I hope they never, ever leave!

I go twice a year for my car & motorcycle. I doubt this has anything to do with me personally, but every time I’ve been in the owner himself has greeted me like he knew me. The very first time I was in, after he handed me my tabs I said “You must be the owner huh?”. I have rarely in my life been treated with such kindness and benevolence from someone in a customer service position; I could tell he was the owner because you could really feel that he loved being there. This is a weird review I know, and it’s biased because he’s the only person I’ve ever dealt with in there, but the guy just radiates good vibes. 10/10 recommend.

I moved from CA to WA and needed to get my new car registration and license plates. I went on a Saturday at about noon and only waited about 10 minutes before being able to be helped. The women in the office were so extremely helpful and kind. The whole process to getting my new plates/registration took a max of 10 minutes. I left so happy I got my plates in hand and was all set up in WA. I am only taking a star off because I wasn’t sure what I needed to bring in and I called about 6 times and no one picked up and their voicemail was full so I couldn’t leave my number for them. Luckily I had everything I needed. Such a great place, I will definitely return here for future car needs and recommend anyone to go there.

No, they only do vehicle licensing/registration
Yes. Be sure to bring proper medical and other documentation with you. Call ahead if yiu have any questions, theyre very fast and helpful.
https://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/ is where you to start for those answers.
I would call them. But being attached to the government, I would think not.
@atlasashley: No, this office caters to vehicle registrations and doesn't do drivers license or state IDs. What you want is "Department of Licensing" like the one located at 450 3rd Ave W Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98119
Sounds about right for the Seattle Area. And I've licenced mine there before last year. And mileage makes no difference. I moved to Grays Harbor county. And it was $98 for title and tabs this year. Same car. 18yrs old. And no emissions needed. Though emissions expire next year. And no longer will exist in 2020.
The office has the tags once paid for and should be ready to pick up.
Yes it does, it will cost you $10.
Unfortunately I think the permit is literally only good from the DOL that you get it from, to the emissions place itself but don't quote me on that. I would just call to confirm any questions you might have--they're all very kind at this specific location! (Only had positive experiences myself)
