Good organization. Friendly people, interesting field trips, beneficial educational activities for the community. Manage Moccasin Lake nature park and Possum Creek nature preserve. Local chapter of National Audubon Society. Moccasin Lake Park has educational activities and operates a rehabilitation center for injured birds.

We use the ebird app or website (https://ebird.org/home) to determine locations of specific species in a location. It's a great way to find the birds you want to see, print out a checklist for a park or 'hotspot' where many birds are seen, or look for rare species. Is it legal to target shoot at a metal sign in a lake that had houses around it? So sick of the sound of metal clanking off the target. No where near the birds we used to have, sad.

According to the Florida State Statues, Chapter 790, WEAPONS AND FIREARMS, 790.15 Discharging firearm in public or on residential property, is illegal. You have the option of calling in an anonymous report to police. Firing even BBs at a metal sign is a ricochet hazard that is very dangerous and a rookie action.

Earthday at Honeymoon Island We spoke to a rep at your booth. Very informative. She said there were 10 mating pairs of Snow Hill Cranes in Florida this breeding season. What is their status? Threatened ?

Glad that you enjoyed the event. The sandhill crane (Antigone canadensis) loves Florida and is not endangered or threatened. With the increase in construction and broadening of roadways, we have noted an unfortunate uptick in chicks being hit by vehicles. The city and county authorities have been helpful in posting lit signage to caution drivers in areas of concern.
