I have been a patient here for 10 years .. The office staff is unacceptable. I was 10 mins. Late due to violent rainstorm and city blocked due to a bike race.They refused to admit me and I had to make another appointment to come back.. I live 20 Miles away and with gas prices I thought this was wrong .. The Dr. And his Assistant were fine but I’m debating if I will return next year. This place is more concerned about how many patients they can see in one day rather than treating them with a little courtesy and kindness .

I have had Dr. Avery and his assistant, Chantrel, for many years. Their expertise in eye care is outstanding! I am treated with the upmost care and respect. I would recommend CENTRAL MAINE EYE CARE in Lewiston to anyone who wants great eye health!!

My husband and I both have been going here for several years, and we see Dr. Avery. This summer my husband sustained a pretty serious eye injury that led to a very serious eye infection. There was discussion of him losing his eye sight. CMEC immediately got him into their schedule, and Dr. Avery did a thorough exam. He prescribed him drops and was able to schedule a follow up exam right then. Because of Dr. Avery my husband avoided surgery and potential loss of sight. A lot of these reviews don't take into account that COVID has severely impacted all medical offices- optometrists, too. They are surely short staffed, and truly do their best. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care! P.S. you can pay a nominal fee, and get your script and order contacts/glasses online. This was offered to us by the staff, which was a big help for this cash strapped family!

I went here to get a friend’s glasses fixed, & the woman that sits outside the office to ask Covid questions is beyond rude, and the tech’s that fix the glasses need a refersher coarse in customer service, very disappointing, I advised my friend to go to Optemetric Associates where the staff cares about the patients!!
