The place was okay nobody in there but us on a Saturday night I thought that was strange the margarita came out of one of those mix machines not great when we walked in there was a waitress drinking wine they were very nice but I don't see us going back

The customer service really is as bad as other reviewers say. (To draw comparison: Elena's 43 is more attentive compared to Lena's if you want to be greeted/acknowledged when you walk in.) I've been a customer for years throughout the renovations at Lena's. The place will be empty and you will stand there and wait and they see absolutely nothing wrong with this. Maybe it's the management and the staff is simply confused who should be doing what? It does seem like a coin toss happens with every customer that arrives who wants to be bothered or take the order rather. I'm still hopeful for improvement. Highly recommend the Dominican breakfast (yuca or mangú both are delicious), tostones, and the chuleta frita. If you're not familiar with me from online, I strive for as much integrity and transparency as possible when doing reviews because I know how powerful they can be to drive business up or down. I also know what it is to be a foodie who seeks to try new places all the time and wants honest feedback so I can make an informed decision. That said IF you can have the patience to get past the hit and miss customer service the food is very good. Hey, have a seat try an empanada or virgin colada while you wait. Might not be so bad!
