This is the worst place I have ever had the displeasure of needing service from. The entire staff is rude ( which would be fine as long as the medical care is good which it is not). I suffer from chronic stomach problems and other issues. Went there a few years back, told me I needed emergency surgery in my gut. After seeing one other person he laughed and told me they were completely incompetent. Was there again recently for heart problems and bleeding was treated like I was a burden sent me on my way with referrals to see a cardiologist and gastrointestinal all in the hoag network. Can’t get an appointment with one of the specialist. When I asked “so I’m supposed to wait months to see you after I getting out of the er with heart problems, what if I don’t have months”. They didn’t even answer told me to submit my insurance to there website and hung up. Still don’t have appointments. Don’t send your love ones here they will most likely let you die if it is a serious condition. Imo this place should be audited investigated and possibly shutdown. Good luck.

I love this hospital. My granddaughter was born here and my daughter received excellent care throughout the whole process. I have never had to wait in the emergency room and they are very efficient and caring. My husband was here for an extended length of time and they took excellent care of him until he was able to return home. This is a very clean beautiful hospital.

Always thought this was the best hospital. Staff clearly do a great job. The critique I have is that they released my 93 year old dad that was a fall risk that also got Covid. He was in isolation and the hospital felt it was time he be released even though his doctor did not approve of him being released. In turn, we had to find a facility for him to be taken to from the hospital but couldn't find a place since he still Covid. How and why would the hospital release him like that?! It put us in such a bind and we still are in a bind!!

Wanted to share how the poor people in the ER work... A couple of hours after I was triaged, I met my ER doctor who was rolling around with his cart followed by their transcriber rolling with their own cart and taken to a bullpen (behind a white partition) where I was given a folding chair. There's 5-6 doctor & transcriber teams (all with their rolling carts) to get your history. Mind you all of this is still in the LOBBY of the ER. It was humorous like bumper cars, but so sad. I didn't get into a ER "room" for 3-3:30 hours, after my CT (and I was a higher priority). The lobby was packed with patients when I arrived (even some who came via ambulance were in there) and packed again when I left, with seating right on top of each other. Unfortunately no social distancing... I chose to sit in a hallway. COVID patients were cared for outside. Each and every employee I met was incredibly caring (go triage nurses) and focused on only my case. Hoag has 652 ER beds! Those people are saints!

The 6th floor of the west building.
They don't have set visiting hours - you can visit a patient anytime of the day or night there, which I think is awesome and helps with a person's morale and recovery so much! However, the ICU and Maternity ward might have visiting hours - I'm sorry that I don't know about those.
The country issues the birth certificate but the hospital will help you with the paperwork and also issue you a certificate of birth which is not an official birth certificate.
Yes. They have many options.
Hoag follows the state mandate for vaccinations.....if you are NOT vaccinated, you MUST get tested twice/week
The gift shop is not currently open and patients in isolation cannot receive flowers.
You'd have to call the hospital to be sure but I believe that over 65's are good for most hospitals after Thur 1/21/21
Noo it's not w/ UCLA. Its Afiliated w/ San Joseph
Speak to your nurse caring for you.
Does Hoag have a mental health unit?
WHICH ICU ?! CICU, PICU, NICU, MICU, BICU?
No clue
Yes, Hoag does! If you're, sick and you can't pay --- just go in!
No but if its a general wound that has to be cleaned the emergency room can clean it!
That’s what veterinarians are for.
It's just up Newport Blvd from PCH . First left is Hospital Road.
UCI medical center is the best bet. St Joseph's also. Good luck to you. Praying for your recovery.
Hardly any wait for chest pain - they Triage with a provider at the front and will even get a 12-lead EKG on you there before taking you back ASAP.
