It was a Saturday so the park was busy. It took us 30 minutes to find a space. My suggestion is to come really early. We got there about 11:30 am.

It's nice that this parking lot exists, but its hit or miss on whether or not there will be spots. But it is super central to a lot of the neat pieces about Balboa Park, so if you can find a spot, you're golden for the day. There's no posted security though so hide your valuables.

An absolute nightmare couldn't find a place to park and ended up on the road. Don't recommend even trying to get into the parking lot if it looks full. Lots of jams and angry people.
