Camp here... you'll regret it. Right next the lavishing 5 freeway. You have homeless scoping out your camp site trying to see what they can come up on. And on top of that, the transit system is flying by at full speed. Nothing like sleeping by the beach by the freeway and feeling like a bum. All the lights keep you up at night. This is so much fun. 5/5 will avoid this place like the plague.

Trails is mostly parking lot style camping with very little privacy between spots. The camp sight offers a fire ring and old picnic table. It’s really dirty and best to wear flip flops or shoes because of broken glass, stickers from dry brush & nasty bugs. It gets really hot during the summer. There are bees where the showers are and the restrooms are usually messy during the busy season. There are rattlesnakes on the trails and to the left of trail 6 is a nude beach. Only tent camping between trail 3 & 4. Most trails are steep and rugged and a trek to get down to the beach. Best to take a wagon if you want to bring chairs, umbrellas and coolers & toys ...once down on the beach it’s fun. There are.no restrooms on the beach only up on the bluff which is a trek from the bottom. Most camping sights can hear the ocean but can’t see the ocean. Also, exploring the bluff trails is ok but be careful of sudden drop offs as it can be easy to go over the edge and get hurt. Occasional wildlife can be seen like bobcats but mostly they stay hidden during the day. The winds can whip up and get cold at night so make sure to bring a light weight jacket or windbreaker. And some sort of sweatpants. Firewood can be bought at kiosk during the daylight. Ranger does drive around checking on campers throughout the night. No loud noise between 10pm and 6am checkout at 12 check in at 2pm clean up campsite before leaving and only leave behind firewood you did not use and make sure your embers are out. Also the train runs parallel along the tracks right behind designated camping area, so it can be loud especially when the freight train rolls through twice a night from Orange County to San Diego. .

Great campground, walk the trails to great surf. RVs fit here best. Tent camping is tight. Noise from 5 Fwy, trains and USMC. Group site $500/night. Cool, laid back surf camp. Showers, water & pit toilets. Daily trash svc. Awesome sunset views! You not a surfer? Stay out! JK. Friendly, family atmosphere. But really, you need to surf all day to be able to sleep through the noisy nights. NOTE: Stay away from Trail 6...really really really old hippies sun bathe a natural. Beach patrol runs them off, but even bleach will not cleanse your eyes.

Don’t know what a kombi is but if it’s a camper or a tent that’s ok. The website helps out with many questions. The camping is mostly parking lot asphalt & dirty dirt.
