05/01/2022: 3.5 out 5 - We came as a party of 9 for a family member's birthday request, as he wanted to try out the pizza at Assembly Brewing, which serves Detroit-style pizzas. If you're not sure what Detroit-style pizza is, it is basically pizzas with 90 degree angles, with 4 corners, or just simply rectangular and thick crust using Wisconsin Brick cheese, and the sauce is on top. I'm sure there's more to it, but that's just what I know. We had order 5 kinds of pizzas. If memory serves me correctly, we had ordered Assembly's Meat Lovers, Popeye, Hawaiian, Supreme, and the Veggie Gourmet along with the bread sticks, Artichoke & Spinach Roll and Artichoke Dip as appetizers along with some beers. Pizza toppings seemed scarce, but the appetizers were tasty. Seemed to go quite well with my choice of beer. Regardless, the order took longer than expected, and service was so-so. We were told that we had come in just after Portland's Pizza Week, making supplies a little short and service, well I suppose, a little exhausted...maybe scarce...or just didn't care enough to provide better service to our group. For this day, with the food and service, and what we paid for... let's just say there's room for improvement and better attitude. The thing that does stand out the most for me would be Assembly's Doublin' in Dublin Stout. True to description as, "...less roasted coffee and more chocolate notes." Absolutely in agreement. So, the question remains that I always ask those that I am eating with, "Would you come back?" Most said "No." But, for me I'd give it another try to have that Doublin' in Dublin Stout, but I will wait when there's less of a supply issue and less of service issue. Like I always say, you should always try it once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

We held a low key welcome dinner & drinks party here he night before our wedding. Sharon was so great and very responsive via email leading up to the event. The staff overall were wonderful, we had a lovely time. Not to mention lots of really great pizza and tasty beers. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped by for the Detroit style pizza with non-dairy cheese, which was delicious and authentic. Tried a beer flight that was good. Solid option for food and drink with an outdoor dog-friendly patio.

Thanks for asking! At Assembly Brewing we take the health, safety, and well-being of our customers, staff, and community very seriously. We always have, with the current pandemic we're extra careful. We took a while to reopen for carry out to ensure we would be able to serve our beer and pizza in the safest possible way. We are operating with a small team, all of whom wear masks the duration of their shifts. We take social distancing very seriously inside with each other and guests while we deliver. Inside we have plexiglass dividers set up at any points staff may pass each other closely and face shields for added protection to the masks. We physically wipe down surfaces with towels and sanitizer and in addition have mulpiple food-safe sanitizing fogger machines to double down and ensure a fully sanitized workspace. And of course a rigorous and frequent handwashing schedule! Feeding people is a trusted role and we promise to take every precaution. Be well, stay safe, wear a mask!
The Ekuanot IPA is 6.7%, Live PA is 6.2%, Tropical IPA 6.4%, but the Portland Mercury article from May included what you've described stating that beers wouldn't be very strong.
