If you have the unfortunate "luck" of coming across a job posting by this company, PTI Global, do not take the bait. This is not a company. It is a group of 3-4 people who call themselves "executive management" willfully extorting H1Bs, immigrants, and females -- under the guise of providing temporary or "contingent" employment at big name companies everybody wants to work for. They bet (and bankroll excessively) on the fact that immigrants and women don't understand employment law, and don't fully understand their rights. They will LIE, but do not believe them: they are NOT the "only" company that can get you "non-expiring" temp work; I know of at least 3 others. Why would you not want to work here? PTI Global is, without a doubt, an unethical company. Well, for one: they take your money... lots and lots of money they have NOT earned out of YOUR paycheck and purposefully refuse to offer healthcare, benefits, PTO or ANYTHING. They steal your pay raises and mark down your performance. Your on-site manager can give you a glowing review and tell you that your work is awesome and great. Your performance review (done by a manager who does not understand anything you are doing) will be as if from another planet: disconnected from reality. When you question the discrepancies, their scumbag tricks include personal threats (BY THE CEO HERSELF), intimidation, bait-and-switch tactics, retaliation, and more. The NLRB recently passed legislation that will redefine how "joint" employer status gets determined. If you're a current employee of this evil company, I encourage you to talk to your other CWs and collectively take on this company by filing complaints with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries for wage discrimination, retaliation, and more. Yes you CAN do this if you are an H1B or an immigrant. When your on-site manager has discriminated and harassed you (like mine harassed and disparaged me), don't be afraid to speak up! You don't need to be afraid of these people. You , especially when they do it more aggressively against minorities and women. I'm writing this review today to help anybody who might be considering interviewing or taking an offer with them; please don't send this company your contact info. They are bad people. The handful of overcompensated and incompetent individuals running the show here lack integrity at every level and do not deserve to be rewarded for that.

We are very comfortable working in many of today’s industry translation solutions. While we maintain a toolset for our production needs, we also get onboarded to customer owned platforms to conduct our work. We work with, and use some of the following popular tools for our own production: Smartling, Matecat, XTM, memoQ, SDL Trados Studio, SDL Passolo, Wordbee, Lingotek, SDL TMS, SDL Worldserver, Catalyst, Multilizer, as well as some customer proprietary systems.

One of our core services is quality assurance. We include Quality Assurance while balancing project factors such as the content type and use, the customer's budget, and timeline. We regularly conduct random sampling of the translation work we produce to ensure client quality expectations are met. Our Reviewers work with our Quality Center application, providing direct feedback on the translations and categorizing any issues they found. Our Quality Center Dashboard gives us quick visibility into any quality concerns by using built-in scoring technology. The scoring is defined in customizable scoring models and provides a quality score based on our standards and the requirements of our clients. Quality concerns are recorded and affect the ranking of the linguist. If we see reduced quality or the quality drops below a set threshold, the linguist's work will be monitored heavily. The linguist may also be removed depending on the gravity of the situation.

What translation resources are normally assigned to a project?

This depends highly on the quality expectations/needs, the budget and the timeline. Depending on the size of the engagement, we will have a Project Manager, Program Manager, or a Management team assigned. On the linguistic side, we’ll have a Translator, Copy Editor and Proofreader assigned if the quality is highly critical. In appropriate settings, we can engage with neural machine translation and provide human post editing as well as further quality steps to meet aggressive timelines and tighter budgets. Depending on the nature of the projects we work on, there may also be voice over talents, engineers and desktop publishes involved in the production.
