UPDATE: THIS ISSUE IS SUPPOSED TO FIXED AND IS STILL OCCURRING… it is the same gentleman who turns the sauna off early, tonight I gave you another chance as you asked, I entered the sauna at 7:55 and by 8:15 the sauna had dropped 15 degrees, clear indicator that this employee doesn’t learn from their mistakes either that or care about club members experience. END UPADTE…I went to the gym tonight after work for the sauna specifically I normally use the valley location who keeps their sauna on/running fully until their 9pm closing time. I got in the sauna tonight around 8:05 and noticed that instead of getting warmer like normal I was feeling cooler and the temperature was decreasing as I progressed. 8:30pm half an hour before the gym closed an attendant tells me the saunas now closed. This is not posted on their website and appears to just be a measure to make it easier for the closing crew to get out of the gym quicker. I’ve had to work these types jobs before and cutting members time without posting it anywhere blatantly is poor business. With this being said I will not being using the facility any longer and would direct other sauna users that they should not go there after 7pm if they’re looking for a decent sauna session.

This facility is primarily built for old people and children, they have groups taking up the majority of the rooms the majority of the day, they have very limited equipment for full grown people, their free weight area is very small.
Renovatio
It was ok, except the locker rooms are nasty, like they never do a deep clean. The hot tub is also not very hot- only 100 degrees. I like that they have saunas, but they are in the pool area and have big windows so everyone can see you.

The people at this YMCA are phenomenal. The employees in the child watch have been helping watch my son for almost three years now, and he loves them all dearly. My membership is so good for my mental and physical health. We love the pool, the facility, and the things to do outside! My Y membership is essential to my wellbeing!

Hi Lynda, we absolutely have personal trainers and the best part is that as a new member you receive 2 Wellness appointments with a trainer for FREE. During those appointments they will cover your goals and introduce you to all the equipment to help you get started. Then you can decide if you would like to take it from there or sign up for additional personal training sessions. Our trainers are NOT on commission so no pressure. We hope to see you soon.

Yes it cost $5 for a day pass. However if you see a member that looks like they might be nice you may ask them if they could bring you in as a guest for the day if you're thinking about joining. Just a thought
I never noticed it personally.
Here’s the link to all group exercise classes for all ages. https://ymcainw.org/schedules/group-exercise/
Hi Norah, a Youth membership is $26 a month with a one time $25 sign up fee. Stop by any of our branches to get signed up. You will need some form of ID. Thanks for asking.
Hi Randy. We do have a carpeted area upstairs where you could practice individual moves & Yoga mats. Lots of weights and strength building Precore equipment. Come for a tour after 8 am and let MSR know what you want to accomplish. Good luck
12 years old but you have to take a class 15 years old and you can use them on your own
It is based on membership type, young adult, adult, senior, and income. On our website ymcainw.org go to Join the Y and you can enter your information and get your monthly rate. https://ymcainw.org/join-the-y/find-your-rate/
They are closed for annual maintenance but will reopen Monday the 9th.
They have a BMI, body mass index scale, you just need to find a wellness coach they will take you and show you how to use it. They're very attentive up there I'm sure that you will not have any problem at all.
Check out the Youth Fitness section for ages and trainings. https://ymcainw.org/programs/health-fitness/

Yes
Children are $8
Yes the North YMCA aquatic center will be open Monday the 10th.
I believe there is an interactive form online; if memory serves, that's how I figured it out.
As a. YMCA member, you are entitled to two sessions for free.
The Rec pool is partially closed for swim lessons from 830 to 12. From 12 to 1230, the aquatics area is closed for a safety break. When they reopen at 1230, there is open swim available in all pools for the remainder of the day until the lazy river closes for water exercise at 830.
I direct you to their website. They have a pdf that covers swim times. Cliff notes: children swimming options more-or-less from open to close, every day; some areas will be closed to children at certain times, or some water features will be off at others. Biggest thing for me to be aware of is that on weekends there are mandatory 30m full pool safety closures every few hours. So, want to time weekend arrival to gracefully coincide with that.
No you don't have to be a member. We offer day passes for $10 per adult.
Water aerobics classes are free to attend and drop-in-drop-out in nature. Membership is based on a sliding scale and most seniors qualify for free or reduced membership via their medical insurance and our Membership for All program. Come on in and talk to our member service representatives for a quote!
I think this is too broad an inquiry to answer here. Everything from weight training, to swim lessons, to classes on eating right. I recommend starting with their website (lots there!), and following-up with a call during normal business hours. Alternatively, ask about specific classes and maybe someone here can give specific personal knowledge on it.
There is always open swim in the Recreation Pool all day long. In the mornings during the week, half may be used for water exercise. From 12:30 to close it is all open swim for the remainder of winter break and all day long on Saturday and Sunday. After lessons start again, about half is used for lessons from 4 pm to 6:30 pm. The Lazy River is open swim from 11 am to 8 pm daily, 10 am-8:30 pm on Saturday, and 12:30 to 7 pm on Sunday. The Lap pool has at least one lane available for open swim from 12:30 pm to close every day.
Yes! There is a Ballroom Dancing Holiday Party this month on Friday the 15th from 6 To 9:30 pm. The class itself is from 6 to 7 then from 7 to 9:30, we are having a party where you are welcome to use what you learned in the class and dance with your partner while enjoying drinks and light snacks. Ages 13 and up are welcome and there is a $10 fee if you are Y members or a $20 fee if you are not. You can pay the fee at Member Services in the week leading up to the class.
On Monday, I think.
Not sure. Call them and check. They offer tons of classes, that might be one of them. I haven't noticed it on any of the schedules. But, I use the hot tub, and pool mainly.
I asked them when I was there last Monday. And they were not sure. Lots wrong with the filters and such.
