We were looking for budget hotel in the area that wouldn't break the bank for a quick night's stay. The Bluegrass Inn caught our attention as it wasn't the typical franchised hotel you'd see elsewhere. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay though the reason for the review was for the extra effort the staff made. We left an item in our room. A staff member promptly found it. The item was returned to us in less than a week's time - no charge. The Marriott wouldn't offer such care and attention. The Bluegrass Inn embodies southern hospitality at a low cost.

Question, should I give rating of 1 or 2. First the room was very warm when we arrived so we turned the AC on and went to a local church for their evening services. Returning back to the hotel the room was still quite warm so we turned AC completely as cold as we could get it and went to bed expecting to get up during the night freezing. Morning came and still warm, so we called the front desk and they didn't seem to interested in giving us a different room for our second night that we had booked. I will say the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and except for a couple loud bangs quiet, assuming someone next door dropped something. To me july in Kentucky AC is very important. I wasn't pleased with the eating, there should be an attendant, the milk was spoiled, there was no creamers, the juice was out and the floor needed swept. The location was close to town, right off hiway 60 and 127 which was convenient.

Great place to stay in Frankfort. Anybody giving them less than 4 stats is an idiot... This place is great. I have never experienced a "bad smell", "bugs", "dirty sheets"... Thinks listed in some reviews here. It's privately owned, not a chain, and the owners take excellent care of the property. I tried the two chains down the road, and prefer Bluegrass. Save yourself $35+ and stay here.

The lady behind the desk 6-16-22 around 7:30 p.m. was awesome. After driving all day (700 miles) on a route I was not familiar with, I was stressed and tired. She quickly got me a quiet room and answered all my questions. The room: bed and pillows were wonderful. AC pumped out nice cold air. Individual entrances to rooms which I prefer with luggage and pets. Room has nice fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron, coffee maker, adequate plug-ins for electronics, secure locks on door, and hangers for clothes. I paid $10 per pet for the night. As a single traveler I felt safe.

No bugs when we were there. We had a little rain and that may have kept them away. Summer is the season for bugs, especially mosquitoes.
It's right down the road from Buffalo Trace Distillery. Highly recommend checking it out. The tour is free, and their name brand whiskey (Buffalo Trace) is one of my personal favorites.
Just call them and they will assist you.
