The beach below The Thumb is incredibly beautiful. Oregon coast at its best. You can only get there at low tide. There is a small parking area near the very north end of the road about a mile or so beyond the Road’s End main beach access. It is the farthest north beach access in Lincoln City (Road’s End). It’s a nice walk north from there.

Great medium-length hike. The path is well-maintained. The view at the end is gorgeous!

one of my favorite hikes of the year. I was 7 months pregnant when I did it so it was a bit challenging but doable. worth every bit of it for the view you get on top Update. This was no way close to a failure of a hike for me. Just letting others know it isn't a walk in the park and be aware of limitations you may have. I in no way would have put myself in harms way to do the hike.

Great hike. Can be a bit crowded at the top. It's steep so be very careful going up and coming down.

Questions & Answers

Why is it that the "so called" owner of what people are calling "Gods Thumb", doesn't want anyone to enjoy the beautiful scenery that the the Oregon Coast has to offer? Posting his personal opinions on the habitat is unnecessary.

God's Thumb would love your help fixing the destroyed ecosystem. Want to repair drainage issues, or maybe remove invasive species, perhaps just hauling garbage and trash? Just volunteer a few hours can make the difference.. Thanks.

What's the length of the trail? Is there a loop, or is it in and out?

It is in and out, about a mile but it feels like two, and use caution and wear good hiking shoes. Last year rescue teams had to pack out multiple people with injuries from slipping and falling in wet spots.

There are different ways up there. We parked at the trailhead for the Knoll. If you have AllTrails app it will guide you via Google maps.
