Repeated systems failures with how this practice functions led me to seek another PCP. The residents and nurses are all wonderful, but there are consequential administrative failures - chronic failure to follow up, not getting a call back when you are told you will hear from someone, interminable hold times when YOU call to resolve the failure to follow through, etc. They also don't seem to keep track of preventive health screenings effectively. I get "you're overdue for..." notices when I've had the screening, which has required their referral to even happen, which has been accompanied by results that are right there in the system, so it's baffling. I realize one has to be an advocate for one's health, but my family has had it with the terrible management at this practice. It isn't just an inconvenience, it compromises patients' health. When we failed to get a call back during an acute illness, we were done.

My first experience here was pretty bad. I wrote my initial review in anger, and have since had several positive experiences here. The first review was one star, and is being kept here if you'd like to read my one bad experience out of about 10 at this point. My previous review: Long story short: my appointment was made for the wrong day, I was told it was rescheduled when it was actually cancelled against my will, then rescheduled again. Once I actually had the appointment, I was misled about the costs involved and lied to about the state of my insurance. Icing on the cake, the appointment was about chronic back pain that recently became debilitating. The solution I was presented with was to do crunches. By far the most poor medical advice I've ever had the distaste of recieving. If you want the long story, here you go. When I moved into the area, I set up an appointment with a doctor. A week before the appointment, and 3 weeks after making it, I'm told the doctor will be out that day and I can speak to a nurse practitioner a week later or the doctor a month later. Weird that I was scheduled for a day the doctor was out, but I rescheduled. When I come to the appointment, I find out that the reschedule was marked as a cancellation and someone else has the time slot! I reschedule again. When I arrive at the (third) appointment, I'm told my insurance isn't going through, but to go on ahead as it isn't an uncommon issue that the card doesn't read right. I ask if that will incur any costs and make it clear that my income does not allow for medical bills. I'm told everything will be fine, and quickly ushered towards a room. After my appointment, I check in on the insurance - I'm told that MaineCare expired when I turned 21 (I am 21, and MaineCare expires at 26. I was told a lie, plain and simple). I ask if I can pay whatever is owed up front and am told that there's no bill to pay. I then get a $600 invoice in the mail... The worst part is that the appointment was for debilitating back pain that's been preventing me from working, walking, even standing. The only advice I was given was to do crunches. C when I can't go to work because I'm unable to stand. That's the best you've got, MMP? Two months of wait, two scheduling errors, misleading me about my insurance and the costs of my appointment, and you tell me to do crunches to fix six years of back pain? Bite me. Never returning.

Every healthcare provider at Portland Family Medicine has treated me with respect, patience, and kindness. I have limited availability due to my work schedule, and as a result have seen a few different young doctors over the past 3 years. Every person I’ve seen has gone above and beyond in terms of making me feel comfortable, safe, and taken care of. I love this office.

I've been going here for a while and I have gotten great service. The staff and doctors are very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable and caring and always comfortable talking with them. Highly recommend them

No, I don't believe so. Any CVS will but call ahead for the hours.
Aside from street parking, there are some reserved spaces in the adjacent lot. If you pull into the Walgreens / Food Co-op Parking lot, there is a row of spaces on the far left (against the MMC building) which are marked for patient parking.
