Stopped here on our way from western Maine to Bar Harbor and I’m so glad we did. It was raining heavily when we arrived, but I was determined to visit due to how highly rated this place was. I’m so glad we did, this place is so cool. The walk to the bog seems like any other trail in a neighbor hood park, but once on the boardwalk it’s like you are in the jungle. Then once out of the woods it opens up to this beautiful landscape. We saw lots of different types of plants and some birds. Due to the rain the animals weren’t out as much. I would highly recommend to stop here if in the area!

Very scenic but if you touch anything and i mean anything ranging from people to trees, leaf’s, metal it doesn’t matter what your going to get shocked unless you discharge (by being brave and touching something) but just walking creates the electricity so the only way to stop it is to not be on the boardwalk. it is pretty fun though so I definitely recommend!

Despite being a cool, drizzly, Spring Day the walk was beautiful. If you love birdwatching, the unique bog plant life (such as pitcher plants and sundews), or just want fresh air and exercise, I would recommend checking out the Orono Bog Walk. The board walk is good and stable, with many benches available to sit and take in the beautiful bog ecosystem, plus nice quality educational signage. Great for homeschool or nature lovers of any age. Other trails also available.

STUNNING rare opportunity to walk through a peat bog. Saw two types of orchids and it was covered in picture plants, some blossoming!!! Amazing place.
