This was the worst experience I have ever had when bringing my donations to a Salvation Army center. The employees were unhelpful, uncaring, and rude. My advice is to take your donations elsewhere.

What I do like about this location is that there is a huge selection of clothing to look through, there are many appliances, books, furniture options, and toys. There is also a pretty fair chance of finding like-new bargains. What I do not like about the store is the disorganization and that most clothing pieces are minimum $8 each and the pricing for beat-down brand name items is ridiculous. The tag-less items are priced at the discretion of the cashier who is only reasonable when in a good mood. Salvation Army is supposed to be a nonprofit organization but the needy people are doing themselves a favor by shopping in one of the many retail stores nearby such as TJmaxx or Marshall’s if they want to save money.

This salvation army is the worst one within 50 or so miles. I go every Wednesday, and the staff are always rude and miserable. Pricing is crazy, $20 for used dresses, $5 for used t shirts, $20 for used shoes. Go to the salvation army in Haverhill, MA. The employees are so nice, pricing is so low, and overall your experience will be better. I don't understand why the Salem location thinks that those prices are appropriate for used merchandise.

Love this store! I'm a huge fan of bargains...but, I'm also a people person. Management and staff are always friendly and helpful. Everyone there works very hard - and, I'm sure it can be difficult dealing with some customers who are always dissatisfied with one thing or another. The managers, cashiers and associates have far more patience than I do! I commend them all for having to deal with some of the worst of the worst shoppers. I find bargains, and, if rarely, I don't - well, I enjoyed the HUNT! Thanks for the fun!
