Ordered 5# of Indian grass seed. Didn’t grow. Called and got nothing but the run around. Asked for help with telling me how to get to grow there. They told me it was to steep appear to be be to shaded. Zero help on how to make it grow. They only said their seed supplier said that he had a good a good germination test. Mind you this was $100 worth of seed. Not a huge deal. But their idea of making things good was a 10% off a future order. Absolutely the worst customer service I have seen in 50 years. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy! Check out the pics and see the outcome of my work. Nothing but weeds and now I need to redo all my work. I’m not happy. I would run away for this company as fast as I could. So remember there is nothing to fall back on if your seed doesn’t grow. According to them it something you did wrong. Not them!

This was my first experience with Hancock Farm and Seed Company. I'm a homeowner who has always maintained my own property. This was the first time I had over seeded an area with Hancock’s Argentine Bahia Grass Seed – Coated. With the help of an excellent customer service group at Hancock, I now have the knowledge I need to retry and improve on my first attempt. I'm grateful for their assistance and will use them in the future.

Planted Hancock Argentine Bahia coated grass seed in my front yard July 7th, after killing all the weeds, waiting 5 days, tilling the soil, and raking out the dead weeds. Added Millorganite and organic topsoil to gray sandy base to help hold moisture longer between daily waterings. 17 days in and the areas that have more shade and thus retained moisture longer have 80-90% seed germination, the areas exposed to continuous sun and wind have a much lower 40-50% germination. I have increased watering frequency to the exposed areas and maintained a light organic top dressing in an effort to keep moisture on these seeds continuously, but not overly wet. I called Hancock customer service a couple of times for advice. Very happy with the delivery, customer service and product quality. Thanks!

I have been using Hancock Seed for my deer plots for a few years now and getting great results. Not only is the product great but the staff is always friendly and return emails very quickly answering any questions I may have. I use the fall and winter blend the most but have also used the deer greens, killer clover, ultimate plot mix and the no till. The photos are results from the fall and winter blend.

The dichondra seeds that I purchased are covering my tiny 2 x 18 foot area perfectly. What I love is there are so many seeds in the package that I can quickly sprinkle a few seeds in any spaces as necessary. I wish I could post a pic so you could see what 6 weeks of growth produced.
Based on the location of Tennessee, we recommend Bermuda or a cool season variety.

When no chance of frost
Coated seed contains a clay-based surrounding shell that increases moisture retention and helps to reduce insect or fowl consumption. We recommend raking the seeds into the existing Bahia. For more planting tips, call our office!

That's a great question for them to answer.
Hello the only seeds that I have ever planted were the dichondra seeds that I purchased. They do very well in shade.
