The tour guide on this trip was awesome. He was fun and engaging with everyone on the boat. We learned so much about lobsters and how to trap them. He made sure everyone got to experience all that was offered on the boat tour to their own comfort level. Every one who wanted to got to put the bands on the lobster claws, hold lobster and crabs, get pictures of the traps. He would put a lobster on your head if you wanted! This trip was Definitely a highlight of our vacation!

We had a great time this morning on the lobster tour. Both guys were so good with questions, teaching the children and letting them participate. Bring a jacket for sure as even on a hot morning, the ocean breeze is chilly. We got a lot of fun information about Bar Harbor and lobster fishing. 2 hrs is long so be prepared if you have young kids.

Was an absolutely wonderful experience to share with my partner! So fun and very informative! Beautiful sights! Amanda was a amazing captain and Gaylyn a amusing and fun informative tour guide! Would def recommend for everyone! Make sure to bring sunglasses and clothes appropriate for the weather! :)

This tour was really cool, informative, and just plain fun. The first attempt out we only made it about 20 minutes in before storms ended up cancelling the trip, but they quickly rescheduled us for the following day without any trouble. We got there early to get a "good" seat on the boat (recommend the far back corner) and we loved every second of it. The tour guide was really wonderful, funny, educational, and a great presenter. We also got to see Egg Rock Lighthouse and watched the seals on the surrounding rocks for quite a bit. Definitely recommend the trip when you're in Bar Harbor!

Questions & Answers

How mush is this? Do you pick us up at the royal caribbean ship and what is the total hours from start time to the end time too?

Lulu Lobster Boat Ride is two hours from start to finish. Take layers of warm clothing with you even on the hottest days. The tour is number one on Trip Advisor. Your tender will bring you either to the dock Lulu departs from or the main pier, a five minute walk away. The trip is $35 through Lulu's office or website; more if you book through your cruise ship. But going through your ship guarantees you a seat. Lulu sells out way in advance, so if you do your own booking, do it many, many days ahead.

How many people can fit on the boat

The boat holds 42 passengers, but won't book that many at once, in order to insure everyone's comfort. Usually a full boat is about 36.

Many people with wheelchairs and walking disabilities take the trip -- I worked on the boat -- but the ramps are not explicitly designed to accommodate them, but are standard dock ramps. However, they are wide. Some people get seated and stow their walkers and chairs down below in the cabin, as space is at a premium. Always call ahead during live business hours and be specific with the office person about your needs. Hope that helps!
