We did the 2 hour nature cruise over the July 4th weekend with our 9 year old son. We all loved it! The tour guide gave lots of tidbits about the area, and creatures that live in the bay. We saw a school of sea porpoises, a deer that swam out to one of the islands in the bay, 3 eagles, and dozens of seals. Beautiful scenery, and a great way to see the coastline of Acadia and Bar Harbor. One of the better priced tours. Take a Dramamine if you are prone to dizziness. We would recommend it to everyone!

We went on a Puffin Tour and our tour guides Karl and Emily were such a joy. The captian of the boat made sure the ride was enjoyable and (of course) the views, puffins and other wildlife were more than amazing. I highly recommend to anyone in the area! I'd love to go again when I'm in the area next.

We were leaving today but not until this evening and decided to do this tour as our last adventure in Maine. I'm so glad we did. We had a wonderful tour guide, he was amusing, funny and knowledgeable. I learned all sorts of information about Maine that I didn't know before. They offer snacks and drinks inside and the attendant was so helpful and kind. She also went around periodically in the boat to ask all the passengers how they were doing. I thought that was very kind. She also knew a lot of the animals and boats we would see in the ocean during our tour. We saw numerous lighthouses, puffins and other animals. The boat ride was smooth and not rough. Restrooms located at parking and on board as well. Overall great trip, highly recommend!

Great tour! Staff was friendly and highly knowledgeable. Learned a lot about the different islands and lighthouses along the tour. A Bald Eagle flew right over our heads as we waited to board the boat. Saw many birds, including Puffins and Terns, and seals at Egg Rock Lighthouse. Brief shower, but were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow. Dress warm and bring binoculars, or a long lens for camera.

Questions & Answers

For those of us who have sea-sickness, are the dinner cruises on smooth water???

Hi Karen...our sunset trips stay right in Frenchman Bay...the water is pretty protected and gentle. If there is a lot of wind...it can get more choppy (fyi). I won't say never but it is very rare that anyone has motion sickness issues on those particular Tours. On a side note...they are sunset trips but do not serve dinner.

Hello! The tours that are on the Acadian boat (the Sightseeing/ Nature cruises) are pet friendly. The Islander boat (Somes Sound Fjord tour) is not a pet friendly boat as it is much smaller. Diane Smith
