All they do is give the people there expired food and then don’t even help with housing so where does all the money go the people that work there they treat everyone like they are in prison I don’t believe that they help people the just use people so they can funding from the government they feed the employees better then the homeless people there and to top it off the security harasses the people there so I think they need to be under investigation

Would like to say my experience with Metropolitan Ministries has always been a good one. I’m currently in the First Hug program and have a case worker named Ruth. She always goes above and beyond for me and my boys. So kind , and caring and so great at what she does. She also helped get my boys in summer camp and helped me with daycare as well. Forever thankful for Ruth and Metropolitan Ministries.

I have donated here for years. I love their mission. I love that they are helping people. I love they have housing & in my opinion they are a blessing to the community ♥️
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Housing assistance is done on line through metromin.org. As for the ID you would have to come into outreach. They can provide you with a calendar where you can meet up with the mobile brigade. Hope this helps 🙏
You could try calling them.and asking
Call them to find out.
They are a long term solution and go by assessment only. Not for immediate shelter. You must go to Outreach M-F 9a- 5pm. From there they will assist w/ needs they do take families, single moms w/ kids and single women (NO single men only in family unit)
you have to bring the late notice, they probably won't pay the entire bill but will assist with some and will give you list of other community resources that could assist you in paying the rest of the bill.
Where are they? Have you solved?
It's a case by case basis. They have emergency hiegene, food, clothes and shelter. Tampa housing is where you apply for housing. Waiting list at both places.
Residential pickup is available for gently used furniture items, spot-free mattresses, and large donations of clothing or other items. If you have such items that could benefit our mission, please call (813) 209-1060.
You need to contact them and find out. I'm not sure but give it a try

Yes. They gladly accept donations
Get with Facebook fundraiser. They will assist you on planning. Get with a few people at your church and start with them.
They assist people with various needs. Tampa homeless initial also assist people with situations similar to yours. You have to keep calling them to reach them. Trinity cafe on Nebraska will feed you for free. Home cooked meal made by chefs. They have various locations. Call 211 first call for help they can give you info on who can assist. What day will do was give you more information to fit your needs and they can get you tapped into the the whole system around Florida they got plenty of help just got to ask the right questions right time to the right people and tell them you need a bus pass and ask him everything you need to ask him and then get the information and while you're there get on the phone and make calls so you won't spend all day sitting at that place
They have various programs to assist young adults in your situation. I recommend calling first call for help which is either 211 or 411 I'm thinking it's 211 also called Tampa family Tampa homeless initiative they are in the book I don't have the number outright Metropolitan Ministries does a great job they can give you referrals to the various locations throughout the city and Gracepoint off Nebraska Avenue has a lot of referrals that they can give you a reference to where you need to go. Now Gracepoint deals with people with mental issues but you can ask them for help in finding places similar to what you're speaking of. When I got the Tampa I didn't know anything except my cousin even that I had to get out on the streets just to find out the who what when where and why. A lot of people on the streets help me out a lot of people new things in the world where you can eat at and get a decent meal like Trinity Cafe on Nebraska Avenue West 400 ramp it goes right by there. If you are younger than 18 you need an adult to be with you, now if you are older then you can go by yourself. I hope this helps
I know they pass out food Monday Wednesday Fridaystarting at 9 a.m. I noticed most people started getting in line at about 8:15 8:30 it's a drive-thru lineif you're coming south on Nebraska you would make a left on the street between metropolitan ministries and the YMCA and then left into the parking lot but I would call ahead and depending on your circumstance if you're on foot a bicycle they might be able to help you out another way
Register for Volunteer orientation on the website. There is a calendar with all diffrent times and positions you can register for as well.
There is a process to get into metropolitan. The salvation army and the good Samaritan is taking people. Metropolitan dont take in people from the street. You have to come in when they are open to outreach and go through the application process.
I'm so sorry. I can't get a response from the switchboard. I know a process is required for assistance but it is a Monday thru Friday screening.
Call the office and they can get you set up.
I am arriving in this country, soon I must find a safe place for me and my 5-year-old daughter. Please ! I have no family, I am from Venezuela and I came for asylum. Thanks ! I don't have a job or a place to live, a friend lent me his house
The whole staff is at the metro market are more than helpful, when you call.
Go to their website
I am in Florida hospital room 506 bedridden can you bring to me the needed be items?
Call the Metro office or Helping hands ministries. They should be able to give you some direction.... Are you coming down to Tampa to be homeless or do you have someone to stay with?
Metropolitan Ministries offers clothing assistance at no charge. Donations are accepted. More information can be found on their website. Be well.
Yes they do each year, it's best to check the website for dates, locations and times, or just stop by in person! They do give out on Thanksgiving, Christmas as well! Really great place they will do what they can to offer a helpful hand up not just a hand out! Very professional, clean environment!
Hi David, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We've updated our records and are sorry for the mistake. Please call us at (813) 209-1000 if you have further questions.

Yes
No
Unfortunately I believe they only refer to local mission or Salvation Army
Call them
Bring a valid ID a d any ss cards for children
Holiday tent. Contact volunteer services
Get there well before 9 am. They only have so many to help each day with the bills
If you call or go to Metropolitan Ministries direct they potentially can direct you. Or the community assistance line. CAL for short might be able to guide your needs.
Go to Metropolitan and they can give you real-time information on the ground
I'm pretty sure they are close on thanksgiving, but you can volunteer before thanksgiving at their food camp or at their physical location.
I believe it's at the end of October go to the website it should tell you
No, that is Salvation Army. They only provide nightly stay. Metropolitan Ministries is 3-6 months for emergency housing or 1 year for family recovery. There is a process that may have a waitlist.
If they help. Stop by their offices in North Florida. There they guide you about the services they offer
Contact outreach
Good question i would bet that it would depend on what the offense was if your currently being supetvised and or how long ago was it. Good luck ...you might need to get an expunged.
I have volunteered there many times, and most recently prepared food (after intensive instructions on cleanliness and having donned gloves, we put dozens of eggs in huge baskets for steaming, and made hundreds of sandwiches). However, on previous volunteer days, have washed dishes, cleaned the cafeteria, put boxes together for their Inside the Box catering company, and volunteered three times for their holiday tent around Christmas setting up canned goods and sorting toys. We've never asked for a specific job - just always did whatever they asked. No matter the task, though, it's very satisfying feeling to have helped.
Go to Outreach M-F @8am and request an application for their program. The earlier you go, the better chance you will get seen. Have patience bc it is a process. Good luck!
As everyone already has said, check with Goodwill.
It will gave you access to their housing hallway (employee & employer). However if you're residing there, it can gave you access to your room.
They usually set up a tent in the Tampa bay area. Inside the tent, they have selves of donation goods and the recipients would go inside and pick their necessary items.
If they have availability, you should be able to get in right away. They would be able to explain their process and give you details.
In desperate need of food and housing assistance
I need a place (temporary by the end this may2018 I'm 78 Lady I don't have place to stay.please help me.
Yes call 211 before you leap
Anyone with authority there. They'll bring it to the attention of someone who needs to know. There are others who truly need the help and who are willing to NOT manipulate and steal the limited resources. If you can afford to drink and get high, then you obviously don't need any handouts. Free up the assistance for others who are trying to better themselves.
The only transportation that I am have is a HART bus pass.
Call 211 there are many.
Best bet is to call but if I'm not mistaken time is up
If you have a food stamp card you can go to the DMV and get it done for free. Good luck.
Call or walk in to volunteer center and register
Call metropolitan Ministries, they may have a spot for you. They receive alot of volunteers around this time of the year.
U would have to call them and see
You sign up online then do orientation
We realized that donating to saint Vincent dePaul was the best idea- they truly help ANYONE in need. Not metropolitan ministries. They have some racist workers there... They pick and choose who THEY think is worthy. Definitely not a Christian based program that's for sure
They will give you a homeless ID
Be there before 4:30. They close by 5 and it's usually a line. The earlier the better.
