Simply scrolling and reading customer reviews here are enough to put me off from attempting to apply and enroll in the services. So many terrible, stressful and difficult situations from many customers. My biggest fear is enrolling and dealing with the same issues other unsatisfied customers are reporting i.e. long phone wait time etc. What can LA Care say to potential customers afraid of using their services?

Do not use them. They will blame contractors for their lack of ability to provide care, while taking in government funds for zero results. I was told to use my college for mental healthcare as they are incapable of providing care, in fact they absolve themselves of any responsibility of this by using an outside company for mental healthcare referrals thats based in BOSTON (Beacon Health Options). LA CARE DOES NOT CARE. Aside from dismal options regarding behavioral health, I had a major injury misdiagnosed by their NP at their downey urgent care, and now they refuse to approve my final follow up with UCLA othropedic, who had to fix their mistake. I have never ever encountered a business with such disdain for their client base. Run, do not walk, away from them.

Thanks to the excellence of care by the staffs at all the different hospitals and the rehab clinic LA Care provided for me, my New Year begins with pretty good health. My August bike - car accident landed me in a hospital bed for a month , unable to walk. After the doctor, nurses and therapists did great jobs, my rehab continued at home and finally I can now walk w/out crutches . Thanks for providing me with the best .

The worst of the worst. That's what this LA Care Health Plan (or whatever it really is) is about. At first I found a doctor on the list that was accepting new patients. The when the new ID card arrived, I called the number on the card to make an appointment. It turned out all the information provided on the card was wrong. The medical group was wrong and the doctor didn't even exist! LA Care is an prime example of what a FAILED HEALTHCARE system looks like! They have the worst customer care service as well. This organization must be cleaned up or shut down! It's a waste of taxpayers money! LA Care is a Los Angeles county government run organization.

Sally Jane, you don't know what your talking about, if it was a simple as you simplistic answer we wouldn't be complaining , I bet you work there or your just an ignorant troll trying to argue with people. LA Care actually used a referral service called Synermed that blocked access to doctors and was caught by the state doing so!
No...you are entitled to own a car. It should in no way affect your medical insurance...unless you are buying a Rolls Royce.
The only eye doctor I have been too I received only a eye exam the glasses I can't afford I have to buy them..the only I have seen eye doctor on Vernon and Vermont on the corner..
I would like to know the plan you have with lacare. Defenetely, lacare will support you.
I don't know how to pay on line. All that I know is that LA CARE "is garbage" and gives the clients the "run around" with doctors.
Sorry No Espanol
Yes...your best bet is to use a service like Yelp. The hospital will call them when you are ready to leave. This is an economical way if you DON'T have a relative...neighbor...friend...Church buddy...or work-mate. It may be hard to ask...but it's better at a time like this to welcome human compassion into your heart. Everyone needs this at some time.
You can go to any Emergency Services at any Hospital. I suggest you do so...take care of yourself! Your life and your health matter!
Really? Seriously? After reading all the "real reviews?" And that's only the "tip-of-the-ice"...how many others out there do you think there are who didn't write about it? Still think IT'S a good idea?
No, only to doctor appointments and surgical procedures.
You must contact your health or insurance provider. Google maps location can't help with that.
Just like this question never got an answer. The grievance dept is a joke. LA Care just cares about meeting state standards. They don't care about their members. The reps are trained on basics but the system is rigged for a reason. To slow down the process and pay less for services. Which means more money to the CEO's pocket.
LAC does not discriminate based on gender.

Call the number on the back of your card (member serices) ask to be assisted in calling Healthcare Options
Yes
No they will only pay for the exam but not what you really need, the glasses.
Here is my suggestion. Go to the office at LA County USC where they have people sign up for Medi-Cal and ask that question. I think you can get all your old county doctors back without any problem (unless the quarter ended and the doctor left but these are student doctors and this is LA County USC). Since a huge number of the people who have doctors at that hospital have no insurance (I did that while I was waiting for my Disabled Medi-Cal approval and while I was waiting for my Social Security approval), they will be more than happy to help you out.
It will be covered in la county only. Should have address in la county
Yes
Good luck with that one! Read the trouble people are having trying to access health care from this source and head in another direction...FAST!
