Same as all else have said, complete ripoff. Exchanged USD to MXN Peso at a rate of .0067 (it hasn't been anywhere outside of .0050 in decades). Be willing to pay a premium of 30+% on your money for the "convenience" they offer.

BS exchange rate. Supposed to be 113 yen to $1. I gave $1815 for what was supposed to be for 205,467 yen. But NO, I got 175,000 yen. Almost $300 difference. When I exchanged an additional $500 in Japan, I received 54,000 yen, only losing 2,000 on fees. Even if i triple that, i’m out 6,000 yen or $60, not $300. Complete BS!!! The reasoning i got was because “the exchange rate online is based off of $1 million” well tell me who the hell exchanges $1 million worth of currency when they go on vacation!!!!!?? Anyone exchanging US dollars to whatever currency desired, I advise you to do it after you land to your desination.... complete BS.

Lesson learned for me (that's what I get for not double-checking the current exchange rate while running on 2 hours of bad sleep...oops). Staff is indeed friendly and courteous, and of course the upfront $9.95 fee doesn't seem so bad. However, when exchanging USD for yen in early Sept. 2018, their loose interpretation of the exchange rate earned them another 9,000 yen (~$80USD) and put their "commission" at around 18% for the transaction. While friendly staff at LAX are rare and valuable, they aren't worth this steep price. Learn from my mistakes and *do not use this place to exchange currency.* You will most likely be better off making the exchange at your destination airport or using a credit card that offers no foreign transaction fees if the option is available to you.

I would give 0 but cannot. I exchanged $2,000 for Thailand Baht and got 55,000 bahts... if you wait until getting to a Thailand airport you would get 58,000. Just exchange whatever you need at the destination airport and use your credit card if you feel safe and don’t have international fees. Lesson learned for me I suppose.
