The Campground is small and quaint with lots of trees and wildlife. It is, however, very close to the main road, (which is in need of repair) so you hear every car bump by on it. π The public bathroom and showers are pretty clean, and dumpsite/water/trash are easy to get to. It's very close to the lake and has a nice scenic trail, picnic benches and access to fishing. I gave 3 stars not for the Campground but,for the Camp Host, who is extremely rude, very dismissive & unhelpful and only around when it's time for people to leave. The available hours to talk to someone is only after 3 pm, but truly more like 4 or 5 PM.

Maps didn't show it was along a major highway (60' to the back of my camper) and in town. Otherwise the grounds were nice and well kept.

Decent spot to fish from shore, especialy in the spring or fall. It's where I caught this massive 50" Musky. (At babcock park in the fall of 2021)

Not the out in the woods feel. Hereβs a county park that has been developed around over time but still a very nice clean RV park. The gravel pads are level (although somewhat short) with 30 amp service. What this park does is provide a great way to access the Madison chain of lakes. A boat launch is within walking distance and the RV park provides dock space to a limited number of sites (no electricity available at dock). A supper club, diner, Culverβs, and gas station that sells live bait (including large suckers) are just across the street but the sound of traffic never stops.

Yes, the park is open year round but the camping area is closed for the winter. It will open again in May. You can park on Burma Street or park in the parking lot off HWY 51 by the shelter. The shelter and bathrooms will also be closed.
Within a few steps from the launching dock.
No there isn't. There are retaining rocks placed all along the shore. It's not a very good area to swim anyway. If you go about a half a mile up the road to McDaniel's park, there's a beach over there. It has a really nice park and bike trail and its right by the Green Lantern! Excellent fish fry and breakfast!
Dry right now, but during heavy rains there are spots in the campground that are pretty swampy.
All we have is nighty price of 25.00 for seniors.
