I went to Phoenix House a few years ago in 2016. The people were cool and I had a really hot therapist, her name was Sophia =)

Hello I go Monday for inpatient treatment and have a few questions if anyone can answer them please how big is the closet dresser nightstand are as well as does each room have it's own shower and toilet? Is there room for little sized plastic storage drawers on the nightstand and dresser? Are the beds twins or bunk beds? Thank you kindly.

Addiction has been the most formidable struggle that has plagued my life. I have sought help from more than 7 treatment centers over the last 3 decades and most of them have been super expensive. The Phoenix house, by far has been the best experience I could have ever hoped for. This is important, if your SERIOUS about getting help call this place. They run on a therapeutic Community model. The staff is fantastic and they'll do everything in their power to help you but you have to want to get help. Don't expect Betty Ford or Hazelden (former client) in terms of facility but they are serious about recovery. They staff is awesome they provide and facilitate a fun atmosphere and engaging culture. That first step is the hardest but it just gets better from there!!

The continuing lack of care for the the clients at Phoenix House is appalling. No one is given individualized treatment at all. The lacksadaisical attitude of staff has worsened over the years. Because it is a corporate County funded program, "clients" seem to be more of a dollar figure pushed through the program than patients provided with life-saving help, tools and advice. The dilapidated facility is in desperate need of major repair. If you are seeking real help for your addiction my hat is off to you for making that important first step. If you're in the position to find any other recovery center don't delay and please do so.

Hi Derek, thanks for reaching out to Phoenix House California. For more information on ourprograms, please call 714-953-9373.
Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, we do not have a AB109 contract and therefore cannot pick-up prospective clients upon release. However, we can accept justice involved individuals through Orange County or LA County MediCal.
Thanks for your question. Here's the answer from our counseling staff: "After a client has been with us for 60 days their counselor will determine if a pass is productive to their treatment episode. Any pass granted must be part of their treatment plan and in support of their treatment hours. Should a personal pass be of benefit to their recovery, men will be permitted on Sundays from 8am to 3pm, and Women on Saturdays from 8am-3pm. The amount of passes allowed, and any changes in duration of length will be individually based on client’s treatment plan and episode. Passes will be a maximum of two a month."
If he has Medi-Cal the county pays for treatment, I will forward the information from finance, last year it was 4,500 per month.
