Depends on what you are doing. If you are having demo on concrete done then yes. If you are laying concrete you will. If you are adding anything to the side of your house like a patio covering then yes. Possibly multiple permits. If you are just adding some furnature that is not screwed down then you should not need a permit.

It depends on the work being done. A new addition to a home could take weeks for the city to review and approve. while a bathroom remodel could take about an hour.
