My favorite non-profit organization. They help heal the planet and build community by planting trees at a low cost, or free for people with limited income. They have plant by bike crews to reduce fossil fuel consumption.

This is my favorite non profit in town. I encourage anyone to get involved. They are very appreciative of their volunteers and the experiences are both educational and multi useful in benefit.

How to I get my living tree back to you after Christmas?

Hello and thank you so much for this thoughtful and generous offer! Unfortunately, our organization does not accept tree donations. There are, however, lots of great and easy ways to recycle your trees after the holiday season; since it's a living tree, the best option might be to plant it in your own yard! If there's no room for the tree to grow in your yard, we recommend using the tree to make mulch for other plants and trees! There are also a lot of local BoyScout Troops, sports teams, schools, and other organizations that would greatly appreciate your tree after the holidays. Thanks again for the offer, I hope this helps!

Hey, Eric, it's Graham. What is the name of the flowering (now in bloom) trees we planted at the foot (southeast end) of Bethel Drive? They're wonderful.

Hey ~ Those trees are called "Chitalpa" (Chitalpa tashkentensis). These trees are a hybrid of Southern Catalpa (Catalpa bignonioides) and Desert Willow (Chilopsis linearis), and do quite well at tough sites such as Bethel Drive! I'm glad you like them ~ we're pretty fond of them ourselves, since they are so drought-resistant and have such beautiful leaves and fragrant flowers.
