Hello all I have read some of the reviews and the experience of the one gal who had therapy dogs, is just the tip of the correct & negativity that goes on there at the slum they call the Dorchester house.!! It could be a great historical building but not, due to the current owners.i lived there one year! 2021, and that was it! The owners allowed another gal there to strike me & hurt me...under there own bylaws she should have been kicked out! Yes I filled a police report, but I did not sue...the manager who was there for 5 years moved out due to the the owners only caring about money not people. Since the new owners,3 yrs. Approximately, have driven people away and are not caring or real maintenance on the building. the fellow who was arrested recently, maintenance man, swear at me many times, yelling, and owners said nothing to make him stop & be more respectful...please folks don't move there. Just because it is about 200dollers less than others in the area, the stress is not worth your peace of mind.peace to you all

Had visited so many times and always a happy group of people and found friends. The employees are very helpful for almost all things from helping with furniture, amenities, for they would be lost without the hard working Syivlia Jones who has word day in day out 24/7 for everyone who lives at the Dorchester House and with that thank u for all you do.

This is an independant living facility. You must be able to care for yourself, ambulate and be Independent. It provides a safe apartment, amenities and has a nice dining room. If you require medical care, someone to attend you or require special care the Dorchester is not for you. When I lived there, there were several complainers that were always negative and liked to agitate the residents. People like that are not needed and make the other residents uncomfortable. This does not reflect on Dorchester, there are always busybodies. As I said, you have to be totally independent and able to take care of yourself. There are several other senior living options in the area that do cater to seniors that need more in the way of personal or medical care.

When I lived there the staff was friendly and efficient. I would have liked a larger kitchenette but the rooms simply aren't large enough for expanded kitchen space. Maintenance was prompt, accomodating and friendly when I had requests or repairs. The only negative thing I found was from tenants, not the facility/staff. Some people endlessly complain, especially at meals where they have an audience. They try to make sure everyone gets indigestion by sharing their sour dispositions/complaints. The food was good, menus well thought out and staff very attentive. I would be comfortable living there again.
