Great place for your Japanese food fix. Alot of food options. Fun crane section outside of store.
Nubs
They had REAL wasabi, sushi grade fish, waygu, and uni. The little stores inside are also great! Cute stuff!

A solid standby for Japanese groceries but nowadays there's a lot more competition with Nijiya, Marukai, and others. The place has been somewhat updated with self-checkout, but the organization of the lines still needs work, since it occupies a food aisle. Otherwise, products are good. The small foodcourt needs to be redesigned to provide more seating. The old bookstore section is occupied by the crepe place but they need to provide that seating to Santouka which is far more popular.

Having moved from Tokyo Japan In Sept. 2020 (after living there for 17 years) to San Diego California. At times one, 🤔well me, craves for a bento or a snack that is made in Japan…so I come here to Mitsuwa. I am no stranger to Mitsuwa for I frequently visited one located just outside Chicago in a area called Arlington Heights. Though the one in Kearny Mesa is not as large as that one it still has some of the things that I crave from time to time. There are more branches of the store located throughout California but this one is closer to me. However, in the near future I will visit those as well.

This is a public inquiry forum, you're not reaching the establishment directly. Email them for specialty products.
As far as I know, no. But they have Hokkaido cream milk bread.
Yes. Precooked in the prepared foods section.
Seasonal items are hard to find, call them. If it is in stock, go get them, because they won't last.
This is probably a better question to ask the store directly, since it's a specialty item.
I haven't seen them myself but I'm being told by one daughter she's not sure and by the other daughter I think I've seen them so I'd say go there look it's a good place to look for a lot of different things unusual but your normal store wouldn't have
Call Them Them Amd Ask
im not sure. i didnt see them selling fish though. u can call them to verify.
They should
They do!
Our advice - Best to go directly there, view what you're acquiring to select freshest & finest products (sushi, sashimi, produce, nato, etc); we love Mitsuwa Market! Highly recommend it!
