They kept a guitar out for me even without a deposit. Granted I was literally on my way to purchase the guitar, it’s a very kind and thoughtful gesture. They were extremely kind and caring and didn’t pressure me into buying anything extra or squeezing an extra dollar out of me. I’ve been coming here since before I knew how to play a barre chord, and these guys have pretty much seen me grow up here. Mad respect to all the workers, especially Steve & Norm. I highly recommend this place.

My Son is the musician in our family. So I almost always go with him, which I love (unless I'm buying him a gift)! I get to listen to him play a variety of instruments, he plays guitar, bass, ukulele, and dulcimer. We always have a great time there, no matter what we're looking for the staff are so friendly and helpful!

I was looking for a Martin LX1 and been to a couple smaller shops where I'd found friendly service, but not the guitar I was looking for. Luckily, I walked into the La Mesa Guitar Center and I found both! When you walk away from a purchase feeling special and like you've made a new friend, someone has done their job very well. That depends on what you want. In the Platinum section, there are guitars that cost tens of thousands of dollars, but that's because they're very high quality. The rest of the store has very fair prices, ranging from acoustics, to basses, to almost any guitar you need.
