The Highlands Community board of association are closed-minded and selfishly ignorant toward prospective residents. They denied me the opportunity to live there (I did not get to submit an application). There was not even a meeting as the board went out of town the next day. I think I was denied out of hand without even meeting me or discussing my case. All because I have guinea pigs. I even offered to not bring them with me even though it would tear me up inside. With no fair chance to plead my case. And I think they unfairly influenced the seller of the home I was trying to buy as well. This place should be ashamed of their actions. I am sure I am not the first person they have wrongfully mistreated as my declination happened over a matter of hours. Live here at your own risk.

Looks nice on the outside, but once you live here it’s horrible! My wife biked outside our house once and she was yelled at rudly by the “security”, or an old grouchy man. We also couldn’t even put a bench outside our house because it was a “danger hazard” We had to a special door installed to cancel noise because putting the tv to volume 10 is “too loud”. Would be a lovely place without the rude employees. I’m trying to move and get a home because i’m tired of this place.

What is the monthly fee at Highlands?

It depends upon the home you purchase. The approx 1/4 of homes that are not part of the owner's association are higher. If you purchase a home that has equity in the park, then it's lower. To know what the fees are (and by fees I mean space fee/rental, communal water & electric fee splitup for common grounds), you will need to talk to the realtor that is selling a specific unit.

Are there any available lots to put a home on?

I was there to visit my friend, I did not see any empty spaces, Usually you have to find a less pristine park that's trying to bring in newer trailers and clean up their park

I drove by the entrance to your exceptional 55+ community. I saw a sign that asks not to walk dogs. I thought you were dog friendly, with approval of the dog by the community. Can anyone explain to me. Thanks

Yes. You can have dogs. In your home and inside your gate. You can't walk them there, but can go out front of the park to walk them or to a close by area across the street.
