Hey folks, when you go to the cemetery, keep your dogs on leash! Dude with 3 dogs: I did not appreciate the muddy paws on my clean pants! And lady with the big unleashed labradoodle: it is totally disrespectful to allow your dog to urinate on the gravestones! Hey bike dude! Ride somewhere else besides the sacred ground of our ancestors. You have hundreds of miles of bikeways! Use them!

Never thought I'd review a cemetery but this one is beautiful and historical. There are different information signs on different plots giving some history of those laid to rest there and the role they played in Williamette Valley's history. I love all the native plant growth and how it weaves and winds its way through the headstones and monuments. Tread lightly and be respectful of the wildlife, the grounds, and those at rest.

We visited yesterday, looking for the grave of my great great great grandfather John Cochran of Cottage Grove. I found his headstone leaning against a tree, just as in the photo posted by Danny Foley. This is really a treasure with respect to cemeteries. I love the paths, and all the big firs, but also know from my own property that big limbs falling during wind storms can cause damage.

If you’re looking for Eugene’s history, you’ve found it. Lots of informational posters pointing out notable people from Eugene’s founding, as well as a beautiful space to run or walk. There’s a back gate as well that leads to the road running behind the cemetery which is lovely.
