Amazing bike shop. The owner, Joe, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We brought all our own bikes to ride on the carriage trails. The first two days no issues. The third day I broke a rear derailleur cable. Brought the bike in and asked for the cables so I could do the work myself. In and out, no hassle. Was able to fix myself and was back in business. Day four, broke a chain and had to walk it back out. Brought the bike in on short notice and Joe the owner threw the bike up on the stand and within 2 minutes and he started doing his magic. We discussed the current state of affairs in the world and he had me out the door for extremely reasonable fee for and emergency service appointment. Would highly recommend this bike shop to anyone coming to Bar Harbor to rent bikes, purchase and or get service done. Thanks!

Nice staff. Bad bike(Bald Tire, 0 or negative tread left on the two adult bikes, very slippery on the gravel cottage road). Make sure check the tire and pick the one with deep tread if available.

The staff and owner are knowledgeable, effusive, and welcoming. I was on the island for a week and averaged 50 miles a day on my road bike. It’s conveniently located for pit stops, so I made 3 - each time to scarf some energy bars and cold drinks. Filled my tires and the owner lubed my chain. It seems to be always buzzing with folks looking to rent bikes so plan ahead!

Stopped in on a whim and Elliot was extremely helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed to have a great day on the local trails. Once we returned, Reilly was extremely kind and helpful with the return process. Great service led to a great afternoon! Highly recommend the Eagle Lake and Witch Hole loops!

As of now, We are keeping customers out of the building and offering curbside shopping. We are practicing contactless drop offs and pickups for tune ups. Masks are Mandatory

Yes, they have road bikes. I rented one from them last Spring for the ride up Cadillac Mtn. Their rates are on their website, along with a reservation form. The form lists Shimano SPD cleats as a $5 option. http://barharborbike.com
We do not.. All of our bikes come with the stock tires on them, we can get in the showshoes but i do not have them in stock
The size of the frame depends on the size of the rider. I cannot help you with this question.
Got my Trek Super 8 Commuter at Bar Harbor Bike shop. absolutely love it. I know they have rentals ,their Web site has them open at 9 but Joe is always late :)
