I have practiced civil and criminal law since 1991, and the Ellsworth District Court, Clerk Terry Harding and staff (and Hancock County Superior Court, as they are unified/combined), are one of the friendliest, most helpful and understanding of all Maine's state courts. Ditto for the Hancock County Bar Association. The jobs of court clerks, staff, corrections officers and judges are difficult and stressful, and those in the Hancock County courts are models of professionalism.

I would recommend calling the court clerk's office Monday morning to talk with them. They open at 8am and you can reach them at 667-7141.
