I bought a home and called PWD to set up my water utilities in the new location. On the same call I said, "I'll only be in this rental for a couple more weeks [but I need the water turned on at the new location right away]" I kept getting auto payments taken from my account from PWD and then received an additional paper bill in the mail. I called customer service about the bill to find out I was being charged for water at the rental property I had left. I asked to not be paying my former landlord's bills and was told that I had not indicated I would have an end date at the rental, so I need to pay the bills for the rental property. When I suggested that if the customer service rep I was speaking to was not sure what I meant about leaving in a couple of weeks and needed an exact date, why didn't she ask for clarification? I was told again that because I didn't give a specific date I would be paying for two additional months of water at a rental property I wasn't living in. I've worked in customer service and this was not a great solution from customer service. Will I be asking my landlord to cover the water bills from after I moved out? Yes. Did two of PWD's customer service reps mishandle my calls about my account? Also yes.

Our water has a bitter taste at times ( no idea why) and a strong chlorine taste at other times. I prefer the times when it just tastes like plain old water.

Because of $154 they shut off my residential water yesterday at 2 pm. We paid their balance and waited for the water to comment back on that day and it never did. It’s now the following day and we still have no water. I’m disgusted with this company and the fact they can bully people and take away water from our home over 150 bucks! Incredible. Shame on portland water.
