This is an awesome hike! Reading about it gets you a little nervous because you read about how its dangerous and everything but I think they go overboard with it. Anyone with hiking experience can do this. It is steep, but there are a ton of handles and anchors placed around that you never feel like you aren't secure. You'll want to start before 8a so you can get a parking spot and the route won't be jammed with people

A really fun hike! You'll need to climb rebar spikes like a ladder up the sides of a cliff, so wear appropriate shoes. Probably stupid of me to climb it right after a rainstorm, but made for some cool scenery.

Fun fun fun >> :: lots of scrambling and rock climbing :: amazing ocean views as you ascend cliffside :: as close to bonafide rock climbing as you get without actually rock climbing (lots of iron rungs and rails to assist the climb Cautions >> :: definitely a difficult-rated trail; with that said, some of the climb is straight up ladder-style so it's not necessarily as tiring as a consistent, steep ascent :: slippery when wet; use extreme caution on parts of the trail that are cliffside Tips >> :: ascend straight up the trail from the trailhead; it is not recommend to descend on this trail; make it a clockwise loop and return much easier via the Orange & Black or Schooner Head

This trail is no joke. 1 mile straight verticle. Bring a buddy and go in the afternoon when shaded. Takes about 3- 4 hours. The distance doesn't make you out of breath, its the altitude. I couldn't imagine doing this when there is any precipitation (not pictured, the ladders and steel bars to keep a-hold of on the trail). Go for a challenge, but remember, theres no going down, only up to finish.

Several of the trails close for a few months while several bird species are nesting. Check the parks website for updates.
Several camping options, state campgrounds are booked far in advance. Private ones outside the park, one I usually stay at does not take reservations and is very good. We show up on a busiest weekend and never been turned away. Can't recall the name now...
Idk what "the long way" is. On the trail there is a fork and you can go left or right. Stay left for the day up. The precipice trail took about an hour to go up and an hour to go down.
