The weather was great, the ride was great, the view was great,the company was great.... The only thing that really wasn't right the sign specifically said NO DOGS unless it's a specific service dog to help the person out. I specifically left my dog home to be respectful of the rules, but I noticed there were two pit bulls that barked every time anybody moved... I saw two other small dogs... They were pretty yappy ..I've seen probably 10 dogs today so if they have rules like that they should at least impose them on EVERYONE.. makes me wish I brought my dog at least my dog wouldn't have been barking all the time

If your car battery was drained during the ferry ride, pop your hood and they will have you up and running in under 30 seconds with their portable starter. Aside from that, clean bathtooms, beautiful stained glass windows, friendly service!

Great experience, took the Ferry just for the day. Off the beaten path trip to Vinalhaven on a gorgeous day is totally worth it. Leave your car behind, or you'll have to make return reservations 24h before.

Timing and booking takes a bit of work. But the ferry itself is fantastic, on time, clean and very efficient. We took a few times back and forth from mainland to North haven. Was most fun in the dense fog :) definitely get out on the car deck and feel the breeze.

No. You'll need 2 round trip tickets. The ferry does not go to North Haven from Vinalhaven. All ferries that leave the island go to the mainland/ Rockland.
Yes. There is a line up procedure. The lines are painted for reservations, and non reservations for each island. Just go into the terminal for tickets and schedule. Just be sure to get in the right line. Be prepared to not get on if the line is very long. Round trip for a car with driver is 30$. Passenger is 11$
