Unusual review. Around 9pm, my friend and I (from out of town) got kind of lost. We had been trying to find other friends at another restaurant and failing rather miserably. Both our phones were dead. Out of random desperation we ducked into Habibi where we met Leo the owner. He took us in, plugged in our phones. He was closed, but he made us each a delicious hummus and falafel sandwich. Seriously, it was so amazing and we were pretty damn hungry! He wouldn't take any money and told us we were meant to be there. Sincere kindness and human connection. Please patronize this wonderful place.

Simply the best. Leo and his crew craft simple food that satisfies your Middle Eastern cravings and even some items that will surprise. We keep going back and never are disappointed. Don't think - just go!

Lunch was so delicious and the owner was super friendly and made us feel at home. We’ve lived in Portland for decades and just discovered this gem, but we think habibi tops our list of the best middle eastern food in the area! We ordered a meat mezza plate and lentil soup, which was enough for two to share &at a great price. Can’t recommend enough, we can’t wait to go back!

This was some of the best food I've had in Portland. I got the beef shawarma and my partner had the Habibi Mezza. The portion sizes were generous and well worth the price. The food was made fresh, even the naan! The meat and rice had an amazingly refreshing vinegar zing that kept it feeling light instead of heavy, and though I ate entirely too much food I scarcely felt weighed down. The hummus was velvety smooth and my partner did not let any go to waste. The one drawback is that the bathroom is not wheelchair friendly, but that's not as big an issue as it could be- the restaurant is cozy and the food is well worth it.
