I had my baby in July of 2020 but I still want to leave a good review because I had the best experience at this birth center. All the women are very caring and attentive. The facility is beautiful and cleanly. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to have my baby here. I love that there’s no unnecessary, invasive medical procedures. I had only good experiences with this place :)

Highly professional, deeply caring and personal prenatal, birth, and postpartum experience. In 2015 before Corvallis Birth and Women's Health Center (CBWHC) opened, I had an excellent experience with unmedicated water birth at Good Samaritan Hospital. I'm pleased to share my recent CBWHC experience added to and improved on that significantly. I was excited when the birth center opened and happy to finally use their services when I became pregnant in 2020, having already received outstanding care from Susan and Debbie through Samaritan in 2015. The birth center approach is more relaxed, non-invasive, and personal than traditional clinics and the hospital but you get the professionalism and reassurance that comes from CNMs, a birth-specific facility, and staff with previous connection to the hospital. I had a beautiful water birth with my parents and husband present and went home within 10 hours of birth. The short after stay was my only concern with the birth center model, but I was given the time I needed after birth to recover and the home visits made up for it. The care I received from the midwives added to the joy of a significant life event. You can see the passion for women's care in all of the birth center staff. We especially appreciated being at CBWHC as we all navigated coronavirus times. We are continuing breastfeeding, pediatric, and OBGYN care here. It is so nice to have continuity in care and regularly revisit the room where my daughter was born. We are grateful for this wonderful place and these amazing ladies! **Logistics note. I like to know what something will cost ahead of time even if it's a birth. Alice helped me navigate the insurance gauntlet and the birth center provided an estimate of costs early in my prenatal care.

I carried and delivered my second child under the care of these phenomenal midwives. I had an out of hospital birth in another state and was determined to do it again. Susan and her team are absolutely phenomenal. They care, they make decisions based on science and balance that with any preferences I may have. I felt safe and empowered here. My birth was amazing. Even in the age of covid-19. I will forever hold this community in a special place in my heart. If you're curious, please, go check it out. It's a wonderful facility with all the things needed to safely deliver your baby without it being overly clinical and sterile. Plus, the bathtubs could fit my 6ft2 pregnant self with room to spare.

The Corvallis Birth Center is fantastic! This business goes above and beyond and makes you feel like family. The midwives were kind, attentive, and easy to talk to. My labor and delivery went as smoothly as I could have hoped for. Every year on my daughter's birthday I will think back to how appreciative I am to Kourtney, Andrea, and Susan for their support during labor. My daughter had to go to the hospital at 4 days old and Susan was waiting when we got admitted to the nursery. I was terrified, but seeing Susan was a huge comfort to me. I look forward to seeing them again when I'm ready to expand my family!

Questions & Answers

My daughter is looking for prenatal care and delivery in Corvalis. She is very clear she wants a hospital delivery and medical help with managing pain. She likes the smaller, personal atmosphere of your health center. Can you be her provider?

Good Morning! We would love to offer services to your daughter however our Midwife providers do not deliver babies at the hospital. We provide care and attend births at our birth center. If she is wanting to come and see the center she is welcome to schedule a 'meet and greet' to get more information about this experience. We would love to talk with her more about our practice and she can certainly come and talk with us about the experience of birthing here if she wants to explore this more, but again, we are not attending births at the hospital.

What is the biggest hospital in Corvallis?
