My special needs son was treated so poorly that I will never step foot in another Vancouver eye clinic again with any of my children. I am currently looking for a new location for their eye care. I am appalled at the behavior. I was not given the woman’s name. I filed a complaint but I am writing this in hopes to prevent another child going through the experience. I do hope the additional training management said she would go through helps her to know what’s appropriate and what’s not when talking to children. My son was nervous and began to cry with the thought of the eye drops. That is when she began scolding him. She told him that she sees 6 year olds braver than him (he’s 11) (I informed her about his sensory sensitivity at the start of the visit) she continued scolding him telling him that she’s not dealing with this and that he can stop crying and do what he’s told or she can put him in time out. Her inappropriate commentary continued but I put my attention to helping him feel secure after her out bursts drowning her out. The Dr. Treated him with respect and kindness when she came in. I then told the front desk I wanted to discuss the visit but I did not want to do so in front of my son. So I put him in the car and came back to discuss the concerns. The front desk was kind but did not give me the woman’s name as she said it was on the paperwork but it was not. They gave me cards for management to file a complaint. I later found out that management was on sight at the time and I would have rather discussed the situation in person at the time. I myself am a manager and I hate to hold a business accountable for a bad employee but I cannot risk returning to a business where that behavior may be normal. Anyone with a child knows that those experiences shape how every other experience will go for that child and this has shaped him to be filled with fear of ridicule for his sensitivities that he cannot control.

I am really surprised by all of these positive reviews from this clinic. I wish I had read some of the negative reviews before scheduling an appointment at this place. I needed to see someone right away, so I did not have much choice in the matter. My appointment was with Dr. Clayton. I showed up to my appointment 15 minutes early. It was the only ophthalmologist place that had an appointment that wasn't 2 months out. Now I know why. I had a horrible experience at this place. I have never been treated so disrespectfully and felt less engaged with a doctor. I am still at a loss for words about how poorly I was treated. I can't imagine I have been the only person who has been treated bad at this clinic. The doctor was over 1 hour and 15 minutes late. The second Dr. Clayton walked in she displayed horrible bedside manners and was not focused on me, her patient, but instead on what she was going to do next. She barked at me the moment she entered. With a grumpy tone, she asked if I had ever been seen at this clinic before, at which point I answered no. She then proceeded to snap and tell her assistant that was there to take notes, why they scheduled that "type of appointment" for me. She told her to get to the bottom of it. She never, ever made eye contact throughout the short visit. This woman is not in there to help people, she is in there to see as many patients as she can. The entire visit lasted 3-5 minutes. She was in a rush to get out of the room after a couple of minutes. It was obvious that the clinic quadruple books appointments and does not value or respect patient's time. Not once did she ask me what I was in there for. I had to slow her down because after a couple minutes, she opened the door and was ready to leave. She was very condescending and talked down to me on numerous occasions. She didn't speak to me, she barked at me. This doctor was extremely unpleasant and that is putting it nicely. At one point I mentioned that I had been waiting for over 1 hr and 15 minutes, her response was, "Mondays are very busy for us". There was absolutely no apology or anything like that. Well guess what, they are for me as well. If I showed up late to my appointment, I wouldn't be able to see anyone and I would have to pay a cancellation fee. Do yourself a favor and do not ever schedule appointment at this clinic. I paid a lot of money for my visit and none of my concerns were addressed. I am going to have to spend more money to get the proper care at another place. I am very, very upset.

Excellent service from the time I entered the building and spoke to reception to the time I left! The Medical Assistant was super nice, caring and did a great job. The eye doctor was professional, pleasant, spoke to me about my vision, made sure I didnt have any issues, let me know what he saw and how my eyes are. Very communicative and I could tell he cared about me. Liz in the optical shop helped me find 2 pairs of amazing glasses! So so happy with these medical professionals!

Nothing major. They look at your eye's and put the drops in them and have you look at letters and see how much you can read and they decide what is best for you.
They're very nice but I think appointments are bit out. I could be a few weeks to get in.
