Bad experience. Waited 3 1/2 hours in the middle of the night despite there being no other patients when we arrived. We understand an emergency came in right after us but at an emergency clinic they should be able to see more than one pet at a time. ( or in the least before 3 hours) The receptionist never gave us an update and left us sitting a room. We were getting ready to just leave and find care elsewhere since it was now morning . A new shift was starting and a few other pets entered the clinic. The Vet walked by our room but went to consult on a dog in the hallway that just checked in. Really? When the vet finally came in to see us, she took our cat in the back for treatment saying we could get her in 30 minutes. An hour later, no update, when i asked receptionist said they were just starting on her. The lack of communication was astounding. I question the care choices as well. I even suspect the follow up call we got ( which we initiated) was for the wrong pet because it made no sense. This is a nice facility but that’s irrelevant when you don’t get good care. Stay clear of this place in an emergency.

Never want to have to utilize emergency services for our babies, but when our Moose broke part of her jaw this past Saturday night, they really subdued the trauma for all of us. They were very busy but they triaged us quickly and were very attentive to our needs. Being a Saturday, and their surgeon not being in until Monday, we had to leave our baby with them for almost 48 hours. They were terrific with updates and communication. Surgery was quick and smooth. All aftercare and discharge info was thorough and they spent the time to follow up about how she’s doing. Cost ended up being half what they originally, unofficially quoted and that also helped ease the pain. Definitely a small fortune but to be expected with such a gnarly injury and the time spent with them. Thanks to the entire staff for making Moose comfortable and for being patient with all of us. Hope to never have to utilize you again for an emergency but will go to you if one occurs and recommend others do the same.

So thankful for the care we received here. After almost a week of visits to my vet and testing with no answers, my vet was able to call here and get my kitty in for more critical care as I believe she was very close to dying. She’s only 5 months and I was devastated. Luckily we got her seen immediately after rushing from our vet and were able to determine she had a blockage which is why she was so sick. They communicated every part of the way from the initial testing and cost to diagnose it and the surgery after. They called before and after surgery to discuss the procedure and allow us to ask questions and also followed up after right away to advise how it went. They also made sure to call a couple more times for updates along the way. I’m so thankful we had prepared for this with pet insurance. The costs can get expensive fast and I’m so thankful we would not have had to make the choice between paying and saving my kitty’s life. If any advice it would be to invest in pet insurance!! I never expected something like this could happen with a cat.

10/10 recommend this place! The entire staff are all so friendly, and make you and your pet feel welcome as possible. Thanks to them, they have saved my pet twice now. So thankful to have the little guy back home! Feeling very thankful! Special thanks to Anna ❤️ Couldn’t have done it without you.

My best suggestion would be Dr Niemiec of Dog Beach Dentistry. He often works out of Veterinary Specialty Hospital as well.
Hi Kevin, we do have a veterinary opthalmologist on staff. I have included a link to our ophthalmology page - feel free to take a look and don't hesitate to contact the hospital directly to get all of your questions answered. https://vshsd.ethosvet.com/ophthalmology/
Has your cat been diagnosed with IBD by a vet? They should be able to refer you to an Internal medicine specialist
We just had a CCL repair surgery for our German Shepherd in May 2019 - he had a partial tear in his back right stifle with his meniscus still intact and the surgery was $5,200 at VSH.
VHS is an excellent hospital. Steroid drugs, such as prednisone, work by lowering the activity of the immune system. The immune system is your body’s defense system. Steroids work by slowing your body’s response to disease or injury. Prednisone can help lower certain immune-related symptoms, including inflammation and swelling.
