The Restaurant at The Granville Inn

The restaurant at the Granville Inn is a classy/romantic place to have a great meal. Decked out in hardwood paneling, simple/classical chairs, and a roaring fireplace. Spilt between a large bar with bar and table seating, and a dining room, it is very reminiscent of an English pub. We had reservations, and due to the weather we were seated inside in a corner near the windows. While the dining room as full, it was easy easy to hear each other and we enjoyed a wonderful meal. Our server (Kara) was knowledgeable and professional, providing an excellent dining experience. We started with the burrata to get the meal started and it was very good. Our main meals (the skirt steak and Shrimp & Grits) were served in very large portions and excellently cooked. The amount of food was surprising. It was delicious, but were unable to completely finish either of out meals.

Everything was excellent! The food was wonderful, the service was prompt and the atmosphere was fantastic. Would absolutely recommend for a romantic dinner location, or a good place for a fancy dinner with friends.

I've eaten here twice in the last year, and the food is some of the worst in the village. The salad was on par with a fast food salad, the burger was dry, fries tasted like they were frozen at one point, and everything else was a combination of bland and over or under cooked to the point that I'd never tolerate at a restaurant. The atmosphere was and building are extremely nice, I just wish the food was of a similar quality. There is a ton of potential here, and it's sad that the cooks are not living up to it.

The beautiful and historic Granville Inn is located near Dennison University and a landmark in Granville. They offer hospitality ranging from overnight guests to wonderful food and beverage service. Events are also held here in banquet rooms available for reservation. The tavern area of the restaurant is walk in, but the Oak Room, or fine dining area is by reservation only. Great food and fun!
