Well you have to be carefull because some of the items sild in outlets are downgraded with cheaper materials. Look for out-of-season items or surplusses from their real store. They mix it up. You can actually feel the materials and wear out or get disfigured after one wash. If you dont mind then it won't matter, but saying that it is cheaper is a categorical statement. That is why you cant return outlet items to their regular stores.

It is quite far from the city; a simple Google map search will tell you exactly how far from where you're staying. Car is the quickest and easiest way to get there. If you don't have access to a vehicle, you could take BART to the end of the Pleasanton line and then a taxi-of-your-choice to it. Again, a simple Google maps search will give you alternative ideas, but they may be ridiculously long since it's far from everything.

Just on the north side of the freeway there is a Chevron station

There is no storage or Locker service available. However there are a series of corridors that will let you get anywhere you need to get fairly quickly. One could easily take their items to the car after each purchase.
