They kept the hot tub closed during covid, but now that we're done with masks and stuff it's still closed for remodeling. Everything else is fine

I and a lot of other students tend to avoid the center as there have been consistent mask violations, and issues of sanitation of areas. There is also little reinforcement towards maintaining basic covid safety. This has been a consistent problem through the crisis, and I really hope that they do better in the future. I really wish we were able to use the areas that our tuition pays for without having to worry about exposures. :

Staff does not take mask regulations seriously enough to enforce them. Ive seen one woman tell people to put masks on correctly and thats it. Disheartening to see employees, who are likely Kinesiology majors, care so little about public health and safety.

Has gotten more and more packed every year I’ve been here (this is year 4). FAR over capacity. Even at 9-11pm (they close at 11pm) now every machine is taken. And that’s not even peak that you see 3:30-7pm or so. It’s really hard to me to get up at 6am too :/ When I’ve done that it’s workable though. Doesn’t seem like foresight that stewards student funds well.

If you are not among its enrolled students, but are employed by Oregon State University in any capacity, or are an immediate family member to any such person, you may use the Dixon Recreation Center facilities without charge. However, if you do not fit within these parameters, you will need to enroll in a paid subscription. The time allotments vary from a typical per-month membership, down to a single-day's use.

When is Dixon open to Winter term students?

Hannah Hadi | Aug 19, 2018
Thomas Gruber | Aug 19, 2018

Dixon Recreational Center is open/accessible to Oregon State University students at any time during its hours of operation. It is preferred that such individuals have their Student I.D. Card handy. However, if a student goes without said card, he/she can still gain admittance. But, this student will have to relay his/her Student I.D. Number so that the staff can verify said person as a student in their database.
