The bread served as an appetizer was cold and dry, as though it had been refrigerated. The eggplant parmesan was severely lacking in flavor. The eggplant itself was soggy and cut too thick. The sauce was scant and poorly seasoned. The Alfredo was warm and the sauce was thick and relatively tasty. Portions were generous and they seem to do the basic dishes well enough. Overall would not recommend.

Portland, OR has a vibrant dining scene and is represented well by La Buca Italian Cafe, despite just arriving in town and not having made reservations in advance, they were able to seat us immediately, choose outdoor seating to enjoy the weather, had a delicious bruschetta for an appetizer, a variety of pasta dishes for the main meal and skipped dessert, our server Corrin was outstanding in service and attention, their specialty drinks were yummy and the overall experience top notch, Covid protocols requires you to wait to be seated, indoor dining is limited but more freedom exists with outside dining, located on the corner of 28 Ave and Couch St., this is an easy place to find and a joy to indulge. 5 stars for great food, great service and fair prices, this should be a regular if you are a local, and a must visit if coming from out of town. Highly recommended!
