8/03/22: I am currently on hold, and have been waiting 30 minutes without speaking to a human. This morning I waited 15 minutes with no success. I believe that no one is working at this office at all, except the person who pops in for two minutes to make sure the outgoing message is functional. This is no service at all. Zero stars.
GoodToGo
I had an issue with my change of address and they promptly corrected it. If you have to contact SSA just be patient, your not the only person trying to get help or information. Update 2/7/22. Very professional and courteous. Fax came through almost immediately. Sometimes you may experience long wait times but your not the only one looking for SSA help.

Rude customer service! I recently moved to another state and called to inform about my social security/scam etc the guy was rude and said well why u calling us, call where u are living at! I’m new to a new state and don’t know anything around instead of helping out someone they throw them away because they are lazy and don’t wanna deal with the customers to help solve the issue! Very unprofessional!!! 😡😡😡

Called on three occasions with questions which were answered completely and in a very helpful manner. In all instances, the representatives were more friendly and courteous than most sales representatives I've spoken with (who want to sell me something, I don't really need). All the SS reps I've spoken with here and in Baltimore have made me feel that their goal was to ensure that I was happy and received the best help and results possible.

How can I make an appointment to sit down with a representative and ask a question?
Like. Come in. To speak. To. Someone. With. Out. Waiting. Is. That. Possible
Contact DHHS
I would like to make an appointment I turn 62 in March on the 29 please sent me a date to meet thank you
I'm late on this but yes.... you will have to wait on the phone for an hour (we waited over 45 minutes) but someone will answer. That's really the only number.
No just have with you birth certificate and your photos id
Easiest solution...go to www.ssa.gov and start my ssa account. Secure, fast, easy. You can review your earnings record there.
Yes. Passport is good enough
Call ahead
Yes!
You can go online and print out the paperwork for it. I actually just had to apply for my kids this week as well.. I believe they are called I5s? This also can all be done by mail, or you could call your local SS office and request a appointment. (That's what I did I found it to be way easier) you need to have a valid ID or license for yourself, and I brought my kids insurance cards in for them. (There's have full names & DOB listed on the card) if you run into any issues I would advise calling your local office. They were so so pleasant and very informative every time I spoke with them and literally walked me through the entire process.
Yes. You can do it over the phone.
How do i get replacement card
I would do it immediately
Best thing to do is take in your medical records in person than faxing it
Social security will notify you by mail if you owe them any money
And ask others your age and older 😉
You'll need state ID, driver's licenses birth certificate and if you were born outside the United states you'll need proof of citizenship or Visa work permit.
She can call social security and request one. Call the local office in Portland
I believe you can.
No they will have lot of questions
You can set up an account with SSA. They have a portal for that. It will allow you to conduct any business through the portal
He has to used his own social security number to filing for college financial services
You can go to office without appointment and talk to someone.
From what I've learned, you are automatically enrolled in part A at 65. Part B you have to enroll within the third month of your birth month. After that you roll into special eligibility. And if that is the case, then you can fill out paperwork for special eligibility so that your part B is active from the date of your application. When you are eligible for Part B is directly related to which month you register for Medicare either during or after your birth month. For example, my father turned 65 in June. He registered for Part B at the end of August. He is not eligible for Part B to take effect until November. However, if he had waited until October to file he would have been under the special eligibility and could have had coverage as of October 1st.
Request the paperwork from ssa.
If you have a new account you can just call up and have it changed. Make sure you have the new account and routing numbers on hand.
You can go to your local office, file through the mail, or file online for a new card.
You need to either call into the office or stop in to schedule an appointment.
