I called and the gentlemen assumed I was yelling in his ear. I explained I had him on speakerphone which is why he assumed I was yelling at him. He then hung up on me. Pretty darn rude if you ask me.

Not happy with this establishment. I get covid and all that. The CDC rules these establishments have to take. But to get an employee who one is rude as all hell is not okay! I simply asked the emplyee if I could drop off an envolope (even if i had to stay outside in my car) because it had my SSN on it and she refused. I even asked if I could put it in the front door (this astablishment has two doors you have to go though to get inside) again no. So if my SSN gets compramised because I have to send it in the us postal mail. Ya'll will be hearing from a lawyer. Smh.

Been many times and face to face they have been fast, courteous and very helpful. Calling the phone is much more complicated as it disconnects often and wait times are not great but the people there have always been nice to me and it has been in and out with little wait time.

I just spent an hour and a half for three minutes of their time. They need to have a "quick lane". At one point only 1 window was open with over 20 people in the waiting room. I don't mind waiting in line for my turn, it just seems like they could have a better way to process people who will take more than 30 minutes each from those who need only 3 to 5 minutes. The person who helped me finally, was very nice.

No
Walk in are allowed be prepared to wait only 1 guy takes care of everything
Yeah, they do that on purpose, they are not in the business of helping people they are in the money business and most people don't realize that so they are not trying to give it out contrary to what it was originally designed for, social security has turned into the gov.'s piggy bank and they are not trying to give it away so they design ways to make the process as hard and uncomfortable as legally allowed (just go to the website and read what they say about the SS application process, they actually tell you that they don't want to give you anything and to expect to be denied several times for no legitimate reason) to discurage people from applying for the benefits that THEY EARNED. People don't realize that that is their money, they earned, the government took it, and now they have a right to that money when they need it,at least that was the original intention. They are not trying to give money away because the longer that they can keep it the more it makes for them.
Hi need to make an appointment
You can do it online through ssa.gov
Only to appointment and only for some things like I needed a ss card and have to do it through the mail.
Yes but it is in Auburn ME
What I would do is, if u live local, drive to the Social Security Office on Turner St. in Auburn, the only reason I suggest to go there in person is because trying to reach someone on the phone is almost impossible, if I was ever lucky enough to reach anyone, something would happen and we would get disconnected, when u have waited more than an hour to talk to someone and then lose them, it's upsetting.
Google it. Found it that way before
Definitely report it
SSI is a disability program. You can collect on his record when he is 62 and files. There are many variables to your circumstance. Call your local office or 1800 772 1213
Yes
Your benefit is likely correct. You took an early retirement (I assume) so the only growth would come from cost of living allowances and/or you had larger earnings on your record, replacing lower earnings. If your still unsure please call your local office
Do not worry, if they call again let them know to look for another job. If any issue from SS office , they do things with formal letter.
Idk if you can borrow it from SSI, I've never heard of that. Have you tried Republi-Cash? They do pay day advances. They might do advances on SSDI checks as well, but again I'm not sure
Report your change in income they will make the adjustments
conntact your local SS new rules have changed eligibility
As soon as you can
No more than 3 months ahead for retirement.
Usually about 10 days to one month prior to receiving the first half.
Yes, while the Portland office is closed you can go to either the Auburn office or the Saco office to access services.
No, it's mailed to you
