Every time I pass through Salem I always have to stop at the Record Exchange. Cool workers. Great selection.

Swung by here while in town on the honeymoon! I was ecstatic by the selections, then found way more below in the cubbyholes! Shop keep also knew plenty of music history and is the breathing heart of the store, always lively and willing to chat (and knows the local Cinci Shake It Records)!

A must if you are in Salem! Good to see a section dedicated to Brazilian music. Fair prices and attentive grading on the covers of the records displayed. The owners were nice and friendly, hope to return soon!

Unfortunately that wouldn't be of interest as old 78's are not in much demand, unless they are blues, rock 'n roll, some jazz, RnB and the like. Thank you, though!
Absolutley, they have a good selection of vinyl new and older, All of it inspected and in good shape D.
Hi Ann...thanks for your message. We will check when we're in the shop on Tuesday. We should have a copy of that, but we want to make sure. It might be best to call the shop on Wednesday! Thank you!
Thanks for your question, and our good friend Jeff who left an answer here is right on! We purchase by appointment-only, and prefer to screen over the phone or by email what you have to offer. We selectively purchase few CDs these days. Our store FB page and Google Business page updates and posts have more information. Thanks for thinking of us!
Hello Lorena...we do sometimes have Brazilian records (LPs) by Jorge Ben, Milton Nascimento, Os Mutantes, Lo Borges, Chico Buarque and others, but they are quite popular and sell very quickly. We may have a couple of records presently, but the shop is closed on Mondays. There are some we can still order as reissues. We often have copies of João Gilberto, Astrud Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Caetano Veloso LPs as well, but they too, sell very quickly with the popularity of Brazilian music. Hope this helps!
Hi Stephen...thanks for your question. Do you want Manhattan Transfer on CD or LP?
Hello...we don't have record players for sale, but there are some stereo repair shops on the North Shore that sell second hand turntables, receivers and other audio equipment. There are new record players that you can purchase on line or even at stores like Target. Thank you!
They do buy and sell DVDs, but it's on a limited basis.
I have never made an appointment to go, but then I am usually only there to buy.
Yes...we have gift card, each one "hand crafted", in any amount you wish!
Of course. That's how they make their money. But they need to be in excellent condition and fairly in demand. The latter is relative. If they don't already have lots of copies and they think it will eventually sell, they'll likely take it.
The record exchange is the best store of music I have ever been to! I have found hard to find recordings I could not find any where else the people there are very knowledgeable, and helpful.
Yes & Vinyl, Only an excellent condition. Depending on popularity and resell.
You have to bring it in
