If you are homeless and addicted to substances this place isn't probably for you, I highly suggest sober houses, sober shelters. If your doing good in recovery and you find yourself in need these people will help you. I was stuck "In the life" for 2 years feeling hopelessness for that whole time. I could of signed up for services when I first arrived, used their programs. Oxford have life saving staff, in about 2 weeks I'll be renewing my 8th lease in the same apartment thanks to them, I had struggles retaining, holding a steady employment, food. OXFORD helps with that even after you get housed. Thankyou City of Portland Oxford Shelter.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I get they’re prob understaffed and underpaid and their job description isn’t being a life saver…..BUT I have to say that after two of my brothers staying there, and one dying of an overdose there, THERE HAS GOT TO BE MORE being done to prevent this tragedy! I am told EVERY single day there’s an overdose, always in the bathrooms. With “30 min” checks, if someone goes in right after a check and they run a little late on their next check, or they go in once and you respond that you’re good and then they come back late, a good 45 min will go by and your loved one is now gone with no amount of narcan saving them. Are we helping addicts by handing them free hotel rooms and $50 to get on suboxone? I don’t think so Portland. Please change the way you go about things. Uncalled for.

It was alright. The workers are just there more or less for a paycheck. It seems like that job should require you to have some kind of heart. But what do I know.

I'm giving this reading not to the shelter itself but to a certain individual named Jimmy this guy knows the ins and outs of the shelter in the shelter area if you need any help look for a guy named Jimmy balanzo funny thing is he's happy to help too he won't turn anyone away and he keeps the streets around there cleaning and if you don't need help please help him out he deserves it. he's got a big heart and gives more than what he has to even offer.

Yes, although I'm not sure of the number... Also, once you have spoken to this person, they will likely have to call you as they do not usually accept personal calls but they provide a phone for clients to use.
Yes. Oxford Street Shelter is for both men and women, although there is only a limited amount of room for women before the beds are full for the evening, when checking in for the first time you have to wait till 7:30 pm, and don't expect to get paperwork done till after midnight, then you might get a bed and you'll be lucky if they have any bedding clean and available so you can get some sleep before they start tossing people out at dawn into the elements.
New intakes are from 6:30pm-8pm

They do have showers, you need to check, an id is required.
No you don't
Yes
Yes
Fill out paperwork for the first night which requires photo id and they'll tell you you'll need to get a shelter id the next day which you'll never really have to... And don't use marijuana or alcohol on premises
