I feel so lucky to have reconnected with Jeannine over this last year. Her work as a massage therapist is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled. This spring I had a complete reconstruction of my ACL and have been struggling with prolonged swelling. Jeannine’s manual lymphatic drainage work on my knee has provided some much needed natural pain relief as well as a significant and visible decrease in swelling after each treatment. The scar work Jeannine did also helped relieve some of the tightness and pulling sensation I was getting with in the tissue. Thank you for being part of my care team!!

Jeannine is absolutely fantasic! I don't think I can ever go anywhere else now because no one will compare! She is so caring and rreally understands your complaints, even finds knots you didn't know you had! A very relaxing experience as well and she's just a wonderful person.

I met Jeannine over ten years ago when I redeemed a gift for a prenatal massage. That gift turned out to be so much more than a singular appointment, it provided an introduction to a therapist who has delivered exceptional care ever since. Jeannine has been able to offer me her healing hands through pre- and postnatal care, treatment for residual athletic injuries, stress of work, acute pain flare-ups, and the occasional “just because” treatments. I have always felt comfortable, cared for, and safe on her table. I appreciate that Jeannine is active in her profession, dedicated to continued education, and can offer different modalities and techniques to her clients. She has a wonderful combination of practical wisdom and professionalism mixed with amazing intuition and a kind spirit. She listens! Jeannine consistently accommodates my varying degree of needs by checking in, asking for feedback and being responsive in her methods of individualizing care. Jeannine encourages me to be an active part in my treatment by putting me to work with passive resistance stretches or offering me suggestions for moves I can do at home. She is open to ideas and interested to know what works for me. During our sessions, I can ask her to focus on a specific issue, whether it be tight hips, a sore neck, or ask for what I call her “relaxation special,” a good once over of head, neck shoulders and back. She knows my prior injuries and goes slow and probes for feedback. She knows my tough spots, where deep pressure is the only thing that brings me relief. She has smooth transitions and reminds me to breathe if I forget. I’ve been through a few different locations with Jeannine. The space she currently occupies offers a number of advantages over her previous locations, making it easy to relax. It’s quiet and warm in the winter, comfortable in the summer. There may be gaps of time between my sessions, but I have always come back to track down her reliable knowledge, smile and of course, skilled massage. Every session is an extraordinary healing experience. You will want more than one session with Jeannine, so book ahead. My husband knows that he cannot go wrong with a gift certificate to Foster Wellness. I am extremely grateful for the years and years of having such talented and reliable care available to me. I highly recommend Jeannine to anyone looking for a remarkable, therapeutic massage experience. Thank you Jeannine, for your continued care!

What's your cancellation policy?

24 hour advance notice is requested when rescheduling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule if you are unable to keep an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hour advance notice, you may be charged a rescheduling fee equal to half of the rate of your scheduled session. This amount should be paid prior to or during your next scheduled appointment.

What should you wear during a massage?

Portland City Massage | Aug 18, 2020

However you feel comfortable is the best way. Some people completely disrobe, some people keep everything on, and some do something in between. Depending on the focus of the day, I may ask you to bring gym shorts and sports bra (if we will be doing more movement and getting off and on the table) or remain fully clothed (if we are focusing just on the jaw). One thing I do ask is not to wear any body lotion...you'll be too slippery for deep work!

Do you take credit cards?
